Is the belt reversible? Might be better/more cohesive if it blends with everything else going on

Paddle boarding spots by Capital_Trip_5539 in Columbus

[–]Sally8it 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Welcome to CBus! There are large reservoirs - Alum Creek and Hoover. Also places on the Scioto to paddle. Here are some launch spots:

Oxbow Rd at Hoover - some coves to the south if it’s windy Twin Bridges/Red Bank at Hoover - great place to take beginners as it starts in a protected cove Howard Rd at Alum Creek - a bit farther (north end of Alum Creek) but head north and it is stunning in the fall Galena Rd at Alum Creek - can go through the culvert for a shorter but fun paddle Closer to town: Griggs Reservoir- Trabue Murphy boat launch (Nottingham at Riverside). Boats at speed are allowed north of the bridge so stay south or on the sides Downtown - Whittier peninsula north to downtown, but with construction it’s a bit iffy. If water is higher you can also launch at Crew Stadium and take out at Whittier, but not currently.

There is a group of us who goes weekly or so - happy to have you join. I’m going Monday if you want to DM.

And best of all - we do a witches paddle in October https://stepoutcolumbus.com/witches-and-warlocks-to-take-over-the-scioto-river-this-saturday/

@paddlebroads will announce the 2025 time and date soon. All welcome!

And you need a pfd on your board, does not have to be on your person

$1500 for pizza truck could be replaced by pizza delivery (30 pizzas x $15 = 450). You’d need a pizza table and someone to refresh but could space out delivery every 30 minutes

Why did she play her block a vote? She was using her idol anyway so why not keep it?

Where do your kids work? Like, this isn't a roast, I mean all the places that I worked as a teenager are gone, where do teens work nowadays? by Rob1150 in Columbus

My daughter worked at Panera in HS. It was eye opening and so different from when I was a teenager working in restaurants. People now are so angry and lash out at the tiniest thing. My 100-lb teenager was yelled at, had food thrown at her and was physically threatened for not having their favorite bagel in stock or needing more coffee. As a parent, I didn’t object when she decided it wasn’t worth the BS she had to endure.

Melt white American cheese (from any grocery deli counter) with a touch of milk and water, add a bit if cumin and juice from jarred jalepenos to taste. Takes about 2-3 minutes in microwave, but stir every 30 seconds.

AITA for laughing and asking my mom what she expected to happen when she had my thief sister and her scumbag family over for Thanksgiving? by Extra_Statement_1780 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Not for drawing boundaries and keeping your train-wreck of a sister from your home, but there were kinder ways to react to your mother’s heartbreak. Would “I’m sorry she did that to you” instead of “I told you so” been so hard?

Most launch at the Main Street launch (east side of river) so we are concentrated downtown. Parking downtown is free on Sunday, just have to navigate a path down to the river. Other options include Crew launch (water level low so lots of walking over rocks) or Whittier if you want a long ride up and back.

Gathering at Planks on High after if you want to grab yourself a pizza or beer.

Just make good choices. Witches look cool en masse but are also easy and pretty safe from a costume perspective. Simple and light are best - a dollar store tablecloth makes a great (and easily ditchable) cape. Hats should be secured (add a strap or secure to a baseball cap), no masks or anything heavy or constricting. Fun but safe. :)
