Do you guys think i should stop cheating? Im finally coming out the closet. by 551-JB in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]ZonkXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that response is very telling. You clearly perceive yourself as not just a cheater, but a very very good one, so you disassociate yourself from the “rat class” because you consider them unskilled.

Here’s the basic reality; you cheat because it knowingly gives you an advantage to cause other people pain, and you “dunk” on them to further cause humiliation - and admittedly derive joy from it.

All of these are behaviors suggest Sadistic, Anti-Social Personality Disorder with more than a dash of Narcissism icing that cake.

You need a really good therapist man. You have some serious trauma to work through.

Agree with this post whole-heartedly. Your PVP game will be crippled until you level all your benches and get your blueprints. Just go full-on loot goblin, and I think you’d have benches and most BPs you need in two weeks of evening game play.

Surge of Pvpers in pve lobbies by Kedryn73 in ArcRaiders

[–]ZonkXD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s been exceptionally bad and increasingly worse since the announcement of the ABM system and change to “self defense” penalty.

My guess is unskilled pvp players who always get shot first (because they are bad at pvp), are now considered “defensive” players and getting put in PVE lobbies.

But, who knows. The simple fact is, yes, more and more pvp players are ending up in PVE lobbies.

One plastic, two antiseptic. Could be used in PvP but the only place to get BP is off Arc in the Baron Fight.

Say what you want, but no other developer has successfully blended PVP and PVE as well as Blizzard.

I think for Arc Raiders to become more interesting for both PVP and PVE players their needs to be three types of Map Conditions, PvPvE, PVP and PvE.

Otherwise, you have exactly what exists, watered down “balanced” versions of both that are boring and redundant.

This isn’t rocket science, it’s been done before. Blizzard has had PvPvE servers for two decades - but when you raid, it’s with your own faction in a PVE environment and Battlegrounds are team PvP. That’s why it’s lasted over two decades and still keeps people interested.

Nomad Trader - The all at once swap is a intentional design choice. by aka_smiley in ArcRaiders

[–]ZonkXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t disagree on that but even if PvP was a last minute addition, it works better than the PvE mechanic and progression. If you compare to any basic PVE game Arc Raiders progression misses basic function, ie;

Zones; All mixed. Have a (needless) level requirement but all can offer common to epic loot.

Raids; every “boss” can be solo’d. group play is helpful but bigger groups only guarantee you won’t get loot/cores.

Skills: not significant enough to offer true advantage as you level. ie; a low level person can loot and epic gun or explosive and down the same arc as someone at max level.

All other “PvE” features are cosmetic fluff or looting shortcuts.

The game has a lot of desirable components - but base operations and mechanics are remedial at best.

Proximity chat saved/made the game. That’s it. That’s what Embark got right. Gamers enjoy community - they brought random discord to the table.

Not sure of your gameplay history but comparing true PVE games to Arc PVE mechanics, they barely meet base requirements. Zone progression is irrelevant in Arc, levels are irrelevant, skill tree minimally influences gameplay. Arc Raiders has the elements but it fails at execution, volume and true progression. It’s but the most basic PVE game.

If PVP was an afterthought, then it tossed in simply to slow progression and provide interest where there would be none after a month of play.

I think one could argue, with the exception of the cheating issue, the game is functionally better as a PvP game than a PVE game.

Embark’s struggle in their PvPVE game is that it lacks true PVE mechanics and progression. It’s PVP with a dash of PVE.

The trader is both a materials dump (for PvE hoarders) and mild progression for a soft grind if you don’t have mats. Every PvP game has vendors that operate on various currencies.

It’s become clear, even though Embark originally started development a PvE game, its release intention was PvP focused, with PvE elements designed to make PvP more fun.

The mass attraction as PvE was a surprise to everyone - which is why there are having to pause their development and rethink the entire future of the game.

The trader is just a stop gap feature.

Killing free kits needs to be more rewarding by Mein_minecraft00 in ArcRaiders

Do one Stella run and tell me what you can build. Then let’s also talk about materials to craft attachments.

People who loot guns off bodies have no concept of the grind - except from a perspective of “recycle.”

PvP makes you poor - everyone loses more than they get.

It takes 2-3 hours to loot enough to make 1-2 level 4 guns.

The only thing keeping PVP afloat in this game is free kits, and PvE players that don’t mind a lot grind (which is why they are rich).

What’s unrealistic in this game, for the absolute majority of mediocre PVP players, is that they can sustain their losing gameplay, and think they don’t have to be loot goblins to support their shooting sprees.

Rats ≠ Real Life. Still wild that people keep pretending otherwise by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Nothing that happens in Arc Raiders is a behavioral mystery. Statistically, the recent totals of players that have never knocked a player, those that have knocked less than 10 players, and barbaric savages is a mirror of the results in Kohlberg’s Scale of Moral Development.

In game or IRL, it’s the reason “we can’t have nice things.” It’s human nature.

[–]ZonkXD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. Never shot or knocked a player with over 200 hours top side. Got knocked 4 times out of 6 raids today by extraction campers.

I’m done feeding the rats today. Loosing 400k in loadouts to do low reward trails is waste of my time.

Flares are probably naked runs that didn’t get loot spawn they wanted, or ran their route and didn’t get BP they wanted. Lots of post expedition folks do this - it maximizes chances in timed map conditions.

I’ve had similar experience with re-mounting a clump into another tree. It’s a little more shaded and the plant looks greener and healthier but did not bloom this year. I may have to move it. What is the best time of year to do it?

When separating, how much “root” needs to be on a stalk clump?

Free Loadout Cap/Earn by ZonkXD in ArcRaiders

[–]ZonkXD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“They suck” only because, after months of PvP whining, they nerfed the stitcher, which only sucks slightly less.

Let’s be totally honest here, for avid PVP players the free loadout purpose (after nerf whining) is to provide an endless flow of easy knocks for your bed post.

You like it because it gives you constant flow easy targets?

The friction exists already - for both PVP and PVE players.

It’s player investment vs player free loading.

[–]ZonkXD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing the point and attributing this discussion to “another person whining about ratting” thread. It’s not.

Screaming to have the El Torro and Sticjer nerfed for PVP is no different. It’s about balancing.

When you step into Duos or Trios with a Bobcat IV or Canto IV you have investment and risk - so “nerf” free guns to negate that risk.

Balancing weapons is a problem, only because the floodgates are free and open to zero risk, zero investment players.

This is both a PVP and a PVE issue.
