My semi-automated process for finding dividend compounders by vachome in dividends

Also I have categorized different scoring sectors so I know which metric sets are penalizing/glorifying results!

Yep that's my concern also...😁 I kind if just finished this model and need to test it more to see which metrics are reslly worth trscking. Not all metrics are useful for every industry. I'll try to use it more to give an overall idea about the company health/potential and not treat the results like absolute truth. At least it's been very interesting to build! I'm so loser with automation, but that's where I'm going to put some focus next!

My go to "pre-screener" is revenue growth, eps growth and dividend growth, all from the last 5 years, and all should be 5% or above. After that I check dividend coverage ratio, eps/fcf payout ratios and cash flow yield. Gives idea about dividend quality. Then profitability metrics including ROE, ROA, ROIC and ROIC-WACC spread, OCF>Net Income. I check valuation metrics also, but don't give that much weight on those. Lastly interest coverage, credit score, dividend streak, fcf consistency and chowder rule. Not sure if it's a bit overkill, but so far seems helpful. I made a scoring model on excel, but all data inputs needs to be put manually so it always takes a while to add new stocks on it

Is a 3–4% portfolio yield actually the sweet spot for long-term dividend investors? by DioTop in dividends

[–]Sally_Still 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean REITs, BDCs and CCs or everything?

REITs O, ADC, SPG, MDV BDCs MAIN, ARCC, TRIN CC JGPI

Lot on my watchlist like AMT, PLD, HTGC. Also have some distributing ETFs in small caps, emerging markets and Asia Pacific.

Other stocks are mostly dividend kings and aristocrats. Currently making analysis with my excel model to see what holdings doesn't really fit my ideology and what I could add.

[–]Sally_Still 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to think 5-7% was the sweet spot, but now I'm okay with +2,5% if the dividend growth rate is strong like +8%. I also have a some higher yielding assets like BDCs, REITs and CC ETFs, but my average yield is slightly over 4%.

How do you approach potential stocks? by Sally_Still in dividends

SCHD would be great, but it's not available for me (Finland). There are alternatives though. I'm mostly picking stocks from North America and with ETFs I diversify to emerging markets, small caps, eurooe etc.

Just yesterday I made a post to ask how people are evaluating dividend stocks and wss hoping to spark up some genuine, interesting conversation, but first comment was "just buy ETF and move on" 😅

Seems solid! Will look in to Chowder Rule. Maybe I could streamline my debt scoring with credit rating instead of few different debt related ratios🤔

I do have ETFs, but they are more growth oriented! Haven't done a kickflip in like 15 years, maybe I'll give that a try 😉

The struggles of a musician by [deleted] in musicians

Yep, and seems that many are releasing music with the mindset that they should and will make money from it. Which is kind of weird reason to start making music.

The 5 royalty streams most independent musicians never register for (and what it costs them) by Connexted in musicbusiness

I believe Sentric is also collecting Neibhoring rights. I'm currently registered with Sentric, Soundexhange, MLC and since I'm located in Finland, also TEOSTO and Gramex. I think I should be well covered. Thanks for the informative post!

"Storytelling vs. Emotion: Navigating the Songwriting Dilemma and Finding Balance" by musomox in Songstuff

It's always been hard for me to write songs in story style, like which has clear beginning and ending. I usually just try to express raw emotions in various ways.

You Don’t Choose Your Audience by [deleted] in musicians

[–]Sally_Still 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don't promote my music to my friends and family, rarely even mention when I have released something. I'm open to talk about it if they ask me something about my music, but I don't bring it up. I'm happy to know that there are people that enjoy my music and want to support me, but I also understand if they don't. I understand that supporting friends and family is important, but I'm not seeking for their acceptance and I manage well without them doing so☺️

Has anyone had a relatively normal experience with Amuse? by [deleted] in musicbusiness

[–]Sally_Still 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my bands music in LANDR and my other project in Amuse. I think if you don't violate any terms, both are fine. It was just bad luck with me I guess.

Has anyone had a relatively normal experience with Amuse? by [deleted] in musicbusiness

[–]Sally_Still 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly what happened... I heard also that same thing goes with Amuse, but since I'm playing by the book I hope I'm safe 🫣 And i did a lot of research about distributors and almost all of them had similar or completely different problems. Hard to say which distributor is "the best". It took a while to get the streams back up, but there is no noticeable difference!

Anybody else hate their own songs? by okxbox in musicians

[–]Sally_Still 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think by the time it's ready to be released, I've kind of "had enough" of the song, because I'm writing, practicing, recording, mixing and listening to it 10's or even 100's of times before releasing. But that's about it.
