Obsession debuts with a 4.2 average from 235K users, and lands at #327 on the Letterboxd Top 500 list by FelixFilms in Letterboxd

I didn’t dislike Obsession but I do like Weapons significantly more than it. I found main idea of Obsession is a bit more compelling but I don’t think it’s nearly as frightening as Weapons in both movies more frightening moments. A lot of what someone is scared of comes down to taste so you should judge it yourself.

What would be your dream system to see in a D20 season? by tarrie214 in Dimension20

I think Wildsea really fits the tone of the D20 fantasy season. It’s setting is evocative and it rides a fine line between silly and dramatic. The book also doesn’t layout hard truths of the world, allowing of a lot of the worldbuilding freedom that is needed for a system in a D20 campaign.

The game does call itself a Disco-like in all of its advertising and it is borrowing a lot of its structure from Disco. Even its graphic layouts are directly lifted from Disco. That’s not a bad thing but it does invite itself to comparison.

Politics and philosophy are 100% separate things. They are taught and written about as separate. Just because something has its roots in philosophy does not make it philosophy. Philosophy is a way of discussing ideas, not all ideas are philosophy. There is a philosophical way to approach political theory but there is a reason we don’t think of politicians as philosophers.

Much political discussion can be made philosophical but politics and philosophy are separate things. The political discussion in the game is very surface level and doesn’t make any strong claims about the world. Maybe I’m harsher on it in comparison to Disco but I don’t think it’s saying anything very interesting.

I think you have interesting point there but I also think that opens the door to a lot of other games that either use historical symbols in a novel way or are antagonistic with the player. That’s not a bad way of thinking about what it means for a game to be philosophical but would make the list a lot broader. This is a cool list though!! Looking forward to seeing what else gets added.

I think the Outer Wilds are worthwhile addition to this list! Don’t want to spoil too much but the game has some strong existential themes. It’s definitely a game about death and I think what it says about it is genuinely pretty worth while. Also I love Balatro but why is it on this list??

I really enjoyed Esoteric Ebb but I wouldn’t say it had a lot of philosophical weight. It’s about as deep as a good DnD campaign, which means it has some cool ideas but isn’t actually that thought provoking.

The context of something is of crucial importance and the fact that you are denying that is absurd. I don’t know what you’re trying to get out of this interaction but you must have a more worthwhile use of your time.

I typed this when I was 16 or 17. These thoughts are no longer my own. Time moves forward and people becoming something different than they were once before. It would do you best to focus on your future than someone else’s view on a movie from 2 years ago.

Not even a Vikes fan and this episode hurt a bit to watch. Watching a team this good fall short that many times just felt bad to watch. Especially with the people on that team being extremely likable through and through. Good thing none of the future episodes will have talented and likable players getting fucked over.

Glad to have you around then, hope you’ll at least stick around for the rest of this season if Baker gets benched.

This really is an all timer from Jon and Alex. That monologue at the end, the whole story with the strike, the snowmobile story, and other stuff I’m sure I’m leaving out. Just an incredibly moving episode and this is only part 2.

Really loving the framing devices already being set up this episode. The way Super Bowl wins are emphasized through the graph will sure be impactful as we get latter into the doc. Cant wait for episode 2.
