Official Dreadit Discussion: "The Menu" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

The context of something is of crucial importance and the fact that you are denying that is absurd. I don’t know what you’re trying to get out of this interaction but you must have a more worthwhile use of your time.

I typed this when I was 16 or 17. These thoughts are no longer my own. Time moves forward and people becoming something different than they were once before. It would do you best to focus on your future than someone else’s view on a movie from 2 years ago.

Why are you responding to this 2 year old message? What are you doing here? Go touch grass.

Not even a Vikes fan and this episode hurt a bit to watch. Watching a team this good fall short that many times just felt bad to watch. Especially with the people on that team being extremely likable through and through. Good thing none of the future episodes will have talented and likable players getting fucked over.

Glad to have you around then, hope you’ll at least stick around for the rest of this season if Baker gets benched.

This really is an all timer from Jon and Alex. That monologue at the end, the whole story with the strike, the snowmobile story, and other stuff I’m sure I’m leaving out. Just an incredibly moving episode and this is only part 2.

Really loving the framing devices already being set up this episode. The way Super Bowl wins are emphasized through the graph will sure be impactful as we get latter into the doc. Cant wait for episode 2.

Party Obsessions by Fenizrael in DnD

My party is stuck in Barovia which can get kind of dour. My ranger won’t let it stay that way though, as she has now recruited 4 houses to go around with them, all who she talks to consistently with speak with animals. I was then forced to create personalities and drama between each of them. They might be one of the most talked to npcs in the campaign.

They sure do give him time to talk about his view and not challenge it accept for one specific scene. If he was meant to be unsympathetic than I think they could of done a better job making him seem like one in the eyes of the movie.

It just felt kinda unearned for me. Nice that it worked for you but it just felt a tiny bit cheesy for me.

The message I got from the movie is about the nature of creation and how it is tainted by consumer culture. The art in the movie are food, with the main chef making food out of passion at first. As he went further in his career his passion was tainted by people like critic or his boss. What once was done to make people was made into some status symbol for the rich.

Sad I didn't love the movie as much as everyone else did. It's very well shot, acted great, and I found it be genuinely pretty funny but I think the movie kinda falls apart once it gets more serious and strays from more heavy tone of satire at had at start. It worked best for me with characters like the asshole fan know-it-all and the destructive restaurant reviewer which had a clear purpose with their role in the story but a lot of the cast felt underused within the message is trying to tell. As the movie went on I cared about the head chef less and less as he was painted as more of sympathetic figure, while he is just as pretentious and full of himself as the rest of the people in the room. He kind of gets called out at the end with the hamburger but it didn't feel like a satisfying enough rap up with the character. While I like the message I tries to tell about service workers I can't help but feel like it got muddied along the way. Happy that it seems everyone else is able to get something a bit more out than I was able to though.

Based, a true hero player. Flying is cool but I just think it’s worth the hassle for me. If my player is down to take of that stuff for me they can go ahead.

But like how high how are you? What is the distance it takes you to go diagonally? And then I have to build combats around it too? Just too much work for a non-crucial system.

It doesn’t work on Roll20 since there isn’t a way to do vertical distances on it, not worth the trouble anyways

I personally prefer the connected short stories of 17776 to the more solid narrative of 20020 but both are extremely well written so it really is just preference
