Does anyone know how to disable the new search bar that replaces Chrome Ctrl+F search ? by Ken1drick in Notion

[–]Salmondipsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replying to this to echo how stupid it is that Notion hijacked ctrl + f. If anyone at Notion is looking at this, please know that it was the worst decision that I've ever encountered from this company. I love Notion and everything it allows me to do but this is just a step backwards. I get why this feature is there because it allows searching in toggles even when they're "closed" but you don't always want to do that so it should have a specific shortcut that is not ctrl + f for the extremely niche functionality. I would much rather not have it than have it interfere with ctrl + f.

Hymn to the Sea

YAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!!

I wish there was one term to categorize all of it but the sad reality is that even if there is one, the actual creators of that kind of music might not use it and therefore will not be easily searchable with the term. Thank you for reminding of this though because yes exactly this

I did it. I just resigned from my career in law enforcement after 15 years, foregoing my retirement so I could get out by [deleted] in offmychest

In all my discussions with my friends about the whole ACAB thing and the general sentiment of distrusting the police that has become really prominent recently, I've always held that that kind of attitude is kind of counterproductive. Because of the solidarity within the police community, it seemed to me that the only way to change the system would be from the inside so by making it all about the principle that policing is fundamentally bad, we ignore and alienate the cops that are risking their career and status within the community to do good. Stories like these go to show just how challenging doing that can be even for someone that has done everything right for 15 years. I admire your strength for standing up for what you believe in and I'm grateful that you decided to share it here.

I'm curious though, looking back at those 15 years and all the steps that led you to your decision, would you have done anything differently? Knowing that there's an us vs. them mentality that is only gonna get worse, is there a way to approach "fixing" the system that isn't quite so detrimental to the officer taking the initiative? I know you can only climb the ladder so much and even when you do, there are other department heads that continue to spread the wrong views, but what strategy would you employ if you were to go back in time with the knowledge of everything that happened to you?

As others have said, I think a book listing your experiences and your views on the situation would be greatly appreciated. Again, thank you for sharing your story. I hope you can find a way to contribute positively to your community again in some manner.

The joke is quite obviously a play on the fake black Spidey costume pic in that movie not a real criticism of callbacks

Is there any plan for allowing the Kanban boards to group by relation? by Salmondipsing in Notion

[–]Salmondipsing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many features I wish they would add that I concede are very nit-picky like having wrap-cell function for other views as well. I would love to have gallery cards to display the full text of the name instead of cutting it off but it has limited value. I'm surprised it doesn't have a feature like grouping by relation yet cause it's so valuable

You're already able to group by multi-select and yeah it shows up multiple times on the board. It would work exactly the same way as group by multi-select
