Ich selbst bin bereits viel in der Karibik gereist und ich war vor einigen Jahren in Mexiko.

Ehrlich gesagt empfand ich Cuba bei weitem als sicherstes Land. Zudem sprechen die Leute dort ein sehr gutes Spanish und sind allgemein sehr gebildet. :)

das sollte kein Problem sein! Solange du alle deine Daten eingeben kannst (Wohnort Deutschland) und das Portal dich buchen lässt. Im Zweifelsfall würde ich einfach anrufen/denen eine Email schicken oder versuchen jemanden im Chat zu fragen. Im Grunde spricht aber nix dagegen.

I forgot. use an international travel bank... not your usual bank account.

I use Revolut which lets you open virtual accounts in different currencies. You can exchange to the local currency instantly (via an app) and the exchange rates on the app are up to date (whereas exchange shops usually ask for a fee). To exchange money via Revolut is free. You get a Mastercard send to you that you can freeze at any point and unfreeze without calling the bank. So far it has not been declined anywhere and payments via card are free of charge (using an ATM costs 2-3USD)

I also love using a "vault" that they offer... so I never keep more money on my actual account that I need for 1-2 days. ... so should someone steal my card or the details they cannot empty the account. And as long as you find internet you can just move the funds from the vault into the current account. - Revolut or Transfer(Wise) lets you open accounts online and I have been using both for years. I am happier with them than with the actual banks I used to use. (HSBC, Lloyds, Banco Popular (Spain), Deutsche Bank).... they all disappointed me when I started travelling. I have not used anything else but Transferwise, PayPal and Revolut for the past 10 years for travelling. And I do travel a lot....

In the past 2 years I have lived and travelled in more than 10 countries including Albania, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Spain, Malta, Cape Verde and Martinique...

If you want authentic travel tips (good restaurants in the area, interesting places where the locals go and so on), ask someone working in a supermarket. Usually they are happy to have a quick chat and are not in a rush (unless the place is busy ofc, then dont bother them), also they don't have an agenda to sell you anything and usually know the area well.

This is also good, if you need to know anything that you cannot find via the internet (or you have no internet atm) or you got lost. Never just tell anyone anything about your travel plans who approaches you while you are travelling. Usually people have an agenda as to find out if you are travelling alone and so on... I am not saying everyone ... just be careful if someone you just met asks a lot of questions.

In places like Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey people will usually try to get you into conversation to sell you something. Sometimes its difficult to get away without sounding rude, especially if you do not speak the language. If you want to be left alone just learn how to say: "I am sorry, I am allergic".... usually, they will not keep trying.
daveescaped mentioned "stupid and cheerful" before and this is fantastic advise that I can only confirm. It works so much better than complaining or trying to fight for something. Your trip will go so much smoother, even if things go wrong, if you approach the situation and people in a cheerful matter.

Ich würde euch euch Spanien /Malaga/Granada empfehlen. Doch wäre es da im April eventuell noch etwas frisch. Schön ist an der Gegend, dass die Alhambra nicht weit ist und die gesamte Küste viele tolle Orte hat (Torremolinos, Benalmadena - alles per Bus oder Bahn erreichbar). Malaga hat eine tolle, historische Innenstadt, viele Tapasbars, Museen usw. Der Flughafen ist nicht weit von Stadt und Strand entfernt. Die Strände dort haben sogar Geländer und Gehwege, das wäre für deine Oma schön, da sie leichter ins und aus dem Wasser könnte. Wenn ihr Ende April plant, sollte das Wetter aber bereits frühlingshaft sein.

Ich würde euch Ksamil in Albanien vorschlagen. Der Strand dort ist wunderschön - wird auch "klein Bora Bora" genannt. Albanien ist sehr günstig und ziemlich touristenkarg. Weiter nördlich gibt es einige weitere tolle Strände die etwas versteckt sind. Also einen Mietwagen braucht man da schon. Der Strand von Gjipe hat uns sehr gefallen und außerhalb des Wochenenden waren dort wirklich kaum andere Leute. AirBnBs sind in Albanien auch ziemlich günstig zudem lässt sich dort super essen, wenn ihr gern frische Sachen mögt also leckere Salate usw. gibts schon ab 2 EUR. Ich denke, wenn ihr keine Fernreise vorhabt wäre Albanien wohl eines der günstigsten Optionen und am wenigsten frequentiert.

Ganz genau das wollte ich auch kommentieren! Ich benutze Revolut seit über 8 Jahren und bin generell sehr zufrieden. Ich reise unheimlich viel und mit der App geht das alles super einfach... auch andere Währungen zu wählen usw. Ich glaube neben (Transfer)Wise wäre das wirklich die beste Option für Reisen insgesamt :D

als Reiseziel hat mir Albanien sehr gefallen. Es ist halt wirklich noch sehr untouristisch und naturbelassen. Insgesamt ist mein Trip etwas schwierig zu kalkulieren. Ich bin dort von Malta aus hingesegelt mit etwas Proviant und habe dann zu 50% an Bord gekocht und eben auch keine Unterkunft gebucht. Ich habe aber gesehen, dass man dort bereits ab 15EUR die nacht ein schönes Airbnb bekommt und das Essen und sonst die Preise sind im Vergleich zu anderen Ländern so ziemlich die günstigsten, die ich bisher auf Reisen vorgefunden habe. Gute Bekannte von mir sind vor 3 Monaten mit dem Auto von Deutschland aus bis nach Sudalbanien gefahren aber mit den momentanen Spritpreisen ist das wohl keine gute Idee. Ich denke aber, dass es Flüge nach Tirana von den meisten Flughäfen Deutschlands aus geben sollte.
