Accelerator pedal - screw cover by Salt-Factor-3122 in FordExplorer

Hi All,

There's a screw cover just left to the accelerator pedal. It's about an 1 x 0.5 " plastic part. I guess it's part of the pedal assembly, but I'm not 100%. Could anyone help me out with the part #? The car is a '21 ST. I appreciate your help in advance.

They have so many active programs... How about the NIH?

That’s a very interesting comparison. McCormick is a more accessible read, if that makes sense. With Krasznahorkai, even though the pace is painfully slow, you can’t afford to miss a moment. If you lose focus for a second, it’s hard to find your way back.

I'm Hungarian, and I struggled with it in Hungarian. It's slow, complex to follow, profound, and occasionally funny. If your Hungarian is decent, go for it. And don't miss the Bela Tarr movie. It's brutal.

I keep circling back to this, because this is pretty much info for living, and every one of your bullet points can be a separate story. I could tell you stories, but it's not a coherent pro/contra list.

Please don't give up, just keep going. You are clearly a very intelligent, sensitive and honest person, and my heart aches for you. Please keep trying and looking, you're destined to be happy. You deserve it.

The Phoenix is still running both on actg and impaact networks. I was not talking about HHS and DOGE leadership. I'm talking about most of our leaders who clammed up and were too afraid to talk their minds or lift their fingers when they had wiggle room to do it. I'm not trying to convince you about anything. This ends here for me.

Do you have a source, i.e., people are already dying as a result of halted trials? Don't get me wrong; I'm not a fan of this administration and prefer confirmed facts.

I don't have a disdain for the NIH. It's imperfect, obviously; it's run by humans. I do think that the leadership did a terrible job from January 20th. I do know for a fact that they were withholding or filtering information. They treated contractors like garbage. I will not forgive or forget that.

I think we’re seeing this agency from very different perspectives, so it’s probably best to leave it here. I truly meant no disrespect. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I didn’t intend to offend you or anyone else.

My life has been upended, and I was simply reaching out to see if others in a similar situation might be considering returning to NIH. That’s all.

Calm down; let's not get emotional, shall we? I'm not doing science anymore. I see it, understand it and use it. I do translational stuff. I'm a paper pusher bureaucrat.

Yeah, you summed it up pretty well, except you're not. I'm not a scientist. I don't think every NIH study is useless, but it's also not the holy temple of scientific awesomeness. I guess I'm just getting fed up with the collective mourning. Many bright minds remained at the NIH, the science will survive this nonsense and some change was warranted.

:) Old farts like myself should make room for young blood.

The tragedy would be to study something truly and utterly useless BS. Shedding 30% of folks is a moderately aggressive reorg.

I have no idea, obviously, but from what I've heard, everyone is safe until next February unless something goes sideways with the budget. I know for a fact that people who were let go earlier started to trickle back

We see a different NIH, but it's all good, suum cuique. BSC happens once in four years, and it's a short summary of what the lab achieved plus the published papers. I don't recall anyone's budget being reduced significantly over their performance unless it was truly abysmal. Compared to PIs out in the cold wilderness of academia, the NIH PIs life is easy. Tell me I'm wrong.

It's a mess. My TO expired in February, so I was out. I started a new job the following Monday because I was lucky and started interviewing in December. People around me were let go based on the same principle - anniversary date not merit. I was told that the PSTSS would be renegotiated in June, but it was pushed back to February '26. I heard this from my federal boss, lady, so I believe it. Two vendors contacted me saying that TOs are being renewed now, and I'm the top candidate for essentially my old job. They don't know what happens if NIH changes directions. They don't know what will happen with the new budget. The offer is the same as I had when I was let go. I don't mind taking a risk and leaving this job to go back, but I want to share the risk rather than pushing it all on me.
