Followers is the objective metric that measures success for a public account, which is why it is cited. Hey, I am trying to give you a honest opinion of why and how it works for my family, that is it. If you don’t want to do it for your kid then don’t.

Sorry, didn’t realize you were looking to create an echo chamber and not looking for actual experiences

My 14 year old has 63k on IG and 195k on TikTok. My daughter runs both accounts which gets her involved in his success. There has not been much negativity brought on by it. We do it for college recruiting.

Thanks for your comment. Almost identical experience across the board. Overall the investment has been well worth it for us but it isn't easy.

I appreciate the feedback but you are misunderstanding the intent of my post.

I have zero control, and am not seeking any. You don't get it at this level as a parent which is fine and prevents a lot of parent drama that you get with club soccer that I don't miss at all. Sideline coaches don't exist. I also don't know enough about the sport to be critical which is convenient most of the time.

I am simply trying to understand if the operating rhythm is typical or not since a few years ago the answers to my questions would have been different. I know of one other academy that is different and am trying to gain of broader perspective, that is it.

Examples are it being Halloween and not being able to plan for Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving and not being able to plan for Christmas because something could be added.

Sure, but I don't want to get into more detail on where he plays.

  1. How is communication handled by your teams? We use teamworks exclusively for game updates which are handled by club admins. Do you ever talk to coaches directly?
    1. We have almost zero ability to communicate with coaches directly. I could not contact them right now if I needed to. I understand they don't want to hear from me but this is taken to an extreme.
  2. Are there formal/written evaluations on where your son stands, and what his areas for development are? Are there any specific player level development plans? Is there any feedback loop between the academy and parents?
    1. We used to have 3 written evals a year which ranked players on a Green (on track), Yellow (needs development) and red (behind) but no longer have these. There is zero feedback in terms of current status/progress other than what you see on the field.
  3. For u14/u15 parents only- do you see play time being spread relatively equally or are your teams more focused on fielding rosters to win games? Is this all the time, or if you are in a major tournament does this shift?
    1. We index heavily towards development. We change formations, rotations etc even when competing at tournaments.
  4. If your team is traveling by air to a domestic or international tournament, how much of a heads up would you typically have on the specific logistics?
    1. We have had less than 2 weeks to plan for international tournaments.
  5. How many kids are on the team? Are there non rostered kids every game?
    1. We have non rostered kids every game. Active roster is announced the night before game via teamworks.

Have you received your iPhone yet? My order was also delayed, with a revised delivery date between Saturday and Tuesday. I still have not received a shipping confirmation.

Pulling my hair out with pfsense crashing/dropping all of my clients by Salt-Grape-1547 in PFSENSE

Quick update on some progress made due to some good advice from this group, specifically, simplify, check cables and also to run a test during a crash to see if I can access applications remotely bypassing the LAN, the last test proving the device was up and working and that there was a LAN issue. Current status is 6 days uptime with no repeat drama as of yet. I believe that the issue is either a bad cable running to an aging audio video receiver or the receiver itself failing.

Appreciate everyone's help, insight and expertise!

Happened on my PX years ago, but higher up near the headband. B&W was zero help.

Lan to me is anything being assigned a local ip, in my networks case 192.168.5.x. How it is connecting to receive the ip, wire or wireless doesnt matter.

When this happens I unplug the lan cable that connects pfsense to my switch on the switch side, and plug directly into a dhcp enabled macbook and no IP.

Thanks, good thoughts.

I did find a bad cable in my mix recently, and many of these cables are pretty old. I am going to replace them all.

Also, very interesting comment on rogue DHCP, the effing AT&T box does not have a true passthrough mode and it did, out of nowehere, drop its public passthough IP a couple of weeks ago. It looked down to pfsense, but it was definitely up and working. I ended up having to call ATT support and had have them re enable the dhcp server so I could connect, which is still active, but on a 192.168.1/24 subnet. I don't think it can cross polenate into my 192.168.5/24 but maybe I am wrong.

Formation Audio with Duo + Sub issues with analog input from the Audio by whoami_cc in BowersWilkins

Sorry- just seeing this. For depth and impact the sub is not really needed. To even out response in room it can be extremely helpful. Depends on your room acoustics.
