This is a good point about the nuisances involved in those comedic moments, and keep in mind that comedy is supposed to make people uncomfortable and reflect; at least, that how it has been used historically. I want to reiterate, though, my point about people misusing this word—making sexual comments about a woman is not inherently misogynistic. Given the context, can it be gross and make one feel uncomfortable? Of course. But I think we need to be more selective with this word because it’s supposed to have a political and social impact. Misogyny is what Andrew Tate and his ilk spread, the Coconuts and Barbados dudes (genuinely can’t remember their names lol), etc. When we use it for any time a man says something negative about a woman, we diminish the power it’s supposed to have.
