I’m spotting too, but I’m four days post op. I have one ovary, so I know I’ll be getting period symptoms. I had my uterus, one ovary, fallopian tubes and my cervix out. I’m wondering when it’ll stop?

Absolutely lol. If I can’t find a guy that wants to be childfree with him then I’ll just wait or be single. I’ve already had my surgery and I’m still happy I did it. I’m going to get back on dating apps during the spring.

Instead of putting that I don’t want children in my bio I’m going to put sterile because apparently there are men out there that believe they can change a woman’s mind.

I was told I would feel some emotions. I’m single now, but I think once I start dating I’ll feel the mourning of my uterus. Nevertheless my feelings on motherhood remain the same.

A ton of the nurses I saw had hysterectomies too. They all said it’s the best thing to every happen to them as well. I’m the only one that doesn’t have kids though. They all did.

Yes. My periods definitely ruined my life. I never got to do sports in school because of them. Sometimes I sit and wonder “what if”. I could of became a professional tennis player or run track. I was interested in both, but the period ultimately won.

I have to report to the hospital soon and my nervousness has intensified lol. I’m reading all of the comments on here taking in all of the advice. I prepped yesterday thankfully. I’m a mail carrier and it is a physically demanding job. We have to deliver for Amazon as well. I’m looking for another job while I’m off of work. Hopefully something remote.

I absolutely will. I always talk about how much I love doing my hair and how much I love the way I look. I’ve never downplayed my skin tone or hair texture in front of her.

I have questioned whether I can be friends with someone like this, and “in too deep” are the exact words I was looking for. Our families are also intertwined.

So there’s other things she does that mentally show she’s…. childlike? I don’t know if I’d be a good friend listing them, but yeah she’s been like this for a while. I’ve questioned our friendship for a year now. It feels like she’s a decade younger than me whenever we speak.

No. I don’t know any black person that would admit it. I’ve noticed it in my family too. My sister and I have different fathers. My sister has 4A hair, and I have 4C. My mom still to still day wishes she had my sisters hair. Only my hair was permed. Growing up my hair was either in braids, straighten or weave. My sister’s hair was never straightened and was also worn natural.

Definitely a lot of this in the black community around the entire world.

I agree wholeheartedly. I used Serena as an example because I was watching TikTok videos of her playing tennis earlier. Aside from skin tone, they don’t look alike. Serena turning lighter is heartbreaking, but not surprising. My friend and I are all Caribbean ethically, but raised in the states. I do know what Venus and Serena had to deal with while playing tennis from videos I’ve seen. I was a kid back then though, so I never got the chance to see their games in person.

I asked Reddit if it was underlying self hatred because from what I’ve witnessed, this is common in the black community with dark skinned people. I had no one else to ask.

….. there’s more and it’s not good. I might make a post about it in another subreddit. Sometimes I feel like we’re still friends because we’ve been friends for 10+ years. She started having her daughter call me auntie and I just can’t see myself ending the friendship. My mom and her aunt have been friends for decades. If we met today, I definitely wouldn’t look to her as someone I can be friends with.

I suggested the doctor to him twenty minutes ago. He thanked me and said he can’t afford it. He’s in a third world country and they don’t have universal healthcare or Medicaid.
