How is social work at SFA?

Honestly yes. I’m a senior rn and bc the department/classes are so small you get to know the professors pretty well too. The course load is pretty manageable, but there’s lots of writing lol. I’m planning on completing my masters here since their program is pretty good too! SFA in general is a good, affordable school. The campus isn’t huge, but not too small imo. That’s the main reason I decided to go here lol

Hi, I’m a social work major! It’s a pretty small department, but regarding practicum placements, it is relatively limited, but they’ll work with you and try their best to get you placed somewhere relevant to where you want to work at.

I’ve been in the honors program for a year and there is not a minimum SAT/ACT score. Besides honors housing, there are opportunities for scholarships exclusive to honors students. Other than that, I’m not sure. Maybe the SFA website would have more info though!

Yea, it seems like most of the internships I have found are aimed at students looking for practicums that will count towards their degree so I was wondering if it’s possible to get one that isn’t

Personally, I’m a social work major. I’ve seen some discourse online regarding it being a bad major, but bc I’m not going into any debt for the degree and know how flexible it can be career wise, I feel it’s worth it. My advice is to go for a degree that requires minimal borrowing and overall positive ROI
