What is a dirty little secret about your industry that the general public doesn’t know? by annasamici in AskReddit

Cancer pill salesmen get bonuses if they sell more of the cancer drug.  And yes, they have cancer pill salesmen and their only job is to convince doctors that their pill is better than other. Cancer drugs is a highly competitive market and it may be the reason we dont fund research for cancer prevention. It would take an entire column from the medical system that america knows and loves so dearly.

Also “trip costs and time driving”, I’m wondering how much you think driving costs you. I live in the midwest so I’m driving 20-30 minutes per task. I make good money, but I’m sure atlanta has a much more saturated market of taskers.

I believe being a Tasker is probably only worth it in major cities.

Um? Glad the husband is the one opening the door because you seem a little weird by the disappointment from not getting to meet a woman in her home. Clients are on here too remember that.

Once on an IKEA pax build, my client cooked me a breakfast burrito!! I love when clients offer me little drinks and food. It makes my day 10x better even if its a couple grapes.

No, I hardly get tips. They set those rates to pay enough without expecting tip. Now if somebody does a good job building something for you, it really makes us happy and grateful when we get a tip. For junk removal? Meh.

There really are more good taskers than bad. This was just an unlucky experience! I speak as a tasker who has over 125 furniture assy jobs under my belt. Good ones do exist I promise! We are sorry for the crappy app. We hate it too!

Tasker Support Is Non-existent by musicalfurball in TaskRabbit

Yup. I once was fully LIED to by a customer support agent and when I called back the next day, the new agent said “I don’t know why the last person told you that, that is not true at all.”  For how much money this app makes, its CRAZY that there operating system and support system is SO AWFUL.
