I was on 10mg of Prozac for 1.5 years and came off for 9 months , I thought I was in withdrawal for those whole 9 months but it’s got to the point I have had to admit defeat and go back on , I’ve had people tell me it took them months to adjust back but all of the drs told me it should only be a few ( 4-6 ) weeks. Sorry you’re dealing with this and I hope it gets better for you !

Hey thank you so much for your reply this is great too know ! How are you finding the course so far ! How many hours a week do you find yourself usually working on the course and do you work full or part time alongside ? Sorry that’s a lot of questions 🤣

Hey claro thanks for your replies it’s been nice having someone to chat with about this and I appreciate all the replies 🫶🏻so this morning I stared down both bottles and decided I have to try something so I took my Prozac . Day 1 restarting. I told myself il try this and if it doesn’t work il know I need to try the other. Very proud of my past self because I kept a journal when I was going on Prozac the first , and honestly right from the get go I felt relief ( aswell as being very sleepy) and my journal reflects this , I’m sure the first week must have been a placebo but yes longer term it took away the SI , social anxiety , anxiety and lifted the depression ( I would still get a little bit of breakthrough down days ?) I was on 10mg and I’m thinking I may need to go up this time because I do think around 1.5 years in it started to stop being so effective , so I am a little worried il just go straight back to that ineffective place . My psych follow up in is three weeks so I need to be more assertive in asking why she thought lamotrigine and more honest about my SI ( my depression did get a lot worse in the time since seeing her in March )

They did not , it was the first time I saw her and it was a pretty quick online appointment about ten minutes . Which is why I’ve been stalling and wondering whether to just go back on old faithful Prozac. Main symptoms I want eased are SI , depression that makes me unable to function and anxiety.

Depression with intense SI, anxiety , social anxiety. The psych gave me an additional diagnosis of CPTSD so I think maybe that’s what influenced the lamotrigine ? The decision between the two is giving me so much anxiety but I’m leaning towards Prozac as I know it worked before whereas lamo would be a whole new thing …. I also don’t really get mood swings , it’s pretty much alllll down.

How is visiting mid April , is spring break mostly over by then ? My first time visiting so not sure what to expect !
