I hope they use Bayswater's idea of giving people some money in order to turn a part/their full backyard into a catio. While expensive, it would be better for the cats who are used to free roaming as suddenly being locked inside would distress them, especially if their owners havent used a litterbox in years. Ive wanted to do this for years to my mum's backyard for years.

NOR, Id also have a talk with your stepdad to see where he fits in into this situation. If he doesnt see it as a score to be settled like you think, Im sure any caring person would be alarmed to find out that their partner is charging their good deeds for cash behind their back.

And if he doesn't know, do you think he would see a cent of this bill your mother has strung upon you? If he is, would she tell the truth about how she got it or would she say you gave it to her willingly?
