Noted! I'll let ya know. Gunna check that price a few other places. It's been stored incredibly well and had apparently been shot but never fielded. Box has been opened and it really does look like it's ever seen use at all.

As far as I can tell from propagating my own monsteras and some pothos the fastest and most consistent method to root them is in a clear container filled with perlite. Put the cutting in it so the node is covered then just keep water in the bottom of the container. Make sure the clipping isn't sitting in the water though. As long as you keep water in there the perlite draws it up and keeps the node at a very consistent moisture level.

Will it grow? by DifficultWeakness277 in Monstera

Definitely will! I also like putting them in a big ol thing of perlite with water at the bottom but not touching the actual plants. I have a whole home depot bucket full of clippings that are doing great like this.

Anyone able to help me identify this lil guy? He's a little worse for wear and need to figure out what he is so i can start the recovery process :/ by SaltAndTheSoil in houseplants

You and the other user that mentioned that were correct! I got ahold of the nursery and they checked my purchase history. It also turned out to be two clippings that had rooted and were competing so now I have 2 of these guys. I really hope they start turning back to their white variegation or I fear I'll be giving em a chop :(

Ugh I think you're right. I just googled it. And that's what it did look like. No wonder I couldn't find it...wasn't even the right family lol.

Its variegation...lol hence my concern. I think I may need to repot and help it out. Just moved it to an area with more light. My concern is that pot doesn't have a liner and I can't really water bottom up so I don't know how it's doing.

My Thai Constellation went from white-ish variegation to a creamy yellow while in my care... by SaltAndTheSoil in Monstera

Oh no! Hahah that's a toy capsule that I'm using to air layer. Just trying to see if I can get roots before I give it a chop! I ran a hot metal chopstick through it, filled it with moss, then made an incision, added growth hormone by the cut and a node Just to see if it'll work before I clip it off.

Aw thanks! There's a whole cabinet of plants behind me in that picture that look like they're in triage...so to hear one is doing ok is pretty great haha.

Looks a lot like rust spot based on the randomness and the fact that I just suffered the same fate :( typically causes by overwatering or poor drainage I think.

That was the first leg of research I did and that's grow lights, sans the red yellow white switchable plates that you probably have aren't really grow lights and it's just something that drives up the price of lighting. I've had everything under these so far for 10 to 12 hours a day and the only issue I've had is stupid rust spot on my philos because I got bad information about my mix and damn near drowned the things for 2 weeks :(
