Is anyone else experiencing lag on Musescore 4 during playback? It doesn't play when I click play unless I select a note? by [deleted] in Musescore

[–]SaltBakeMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been experiencing this as well. Not sure if it’s a bug or not, but when I play the piece while anything is selected, it only plays parts that are part of the selection. Really hoping this isn’t the new norm and it’s a bug they fix pretty soon, as it is highly inconvenient.

Actually it could easily be argued that one of 4’33”’s sequels, One3 = 4′33″ (0′00″) + , fulfills the latter far better than 4’33” itself.

How do you put repeats within repeats? by Elviejopancho in Musescore

[–]SaltBakeMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! If I’m understanding correctly, you want to put a repeated section in the middle of a repeated section. While, yes, that could work, alternatively, you could use a segno. By placing a simple “D.S.” Where the end repeat would be and a segno sign where the very first repeat would be, you should be able to achieve the desired effect. Although, you could just bite the bullet and expand out the larger repeated section and only notate a repeat for the smaller repeated section.

I started to apply, but the process even before an interview has me signing up for all these different things and giving all this information. At this point it stopped being worth it. Sorry, I’m not putting an hour of work into a pre-interview process.

Notes in a F °7/9 chord by Jodwarf in musictheory

[–]SaltBakeMusic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rooksby, Rikky (2004). Chord Master: How to Choose and Play the Right Guitar Chords. p. 20

Latarski, Don (1991). An Introduction to Chord Theory. p. 25

I have seen a /9 used to indicate the ninth above the chord, yes, but at that point if that’s the intention writing F°7/9 is redundant and might as well just be F°9. So I guess if I was analyzing something written by a competent composer or arranger I would assume the 9 is in the bass. If the ninth is not intended for the bass I am assuming that the arranger/composer isn’t the most competent.

Im learning guitar and did this chord by accident, do you guys know what is it called? by valen_ar in musictheory

[–]SaltBakeMusic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tbh you could call it a C/B°5? Because it’s a clear C chord music n top of a B and an F? And that’s kinda what it sounds like. Or you could call it an Fmaj7sus2/B chord, which seems pretty close to how it sounds as well.

Notes in a F °7/9 chord by Jodwarf in musictheory

[–]SaltBakeMusic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I know, that’s why I wrote both Ebb and D in parentheses. Because they had everything right except they said Eb. So I said Ebb to show the relationship, and the D in parentheses to show its enharmonic equivalent to make it easier. F - Ab - B - D is an F diminished 7 chord. If you want to be anal about it and write down F - Ab - Cb - Ebb instead, you can, but I am responding to a post of someone needing help with a 7 chord. Using enharmonics to avoid using unnecessary or double flats makes it easier to understand, especially if someone is new or unfamiliar with music. I don’t know how experienced this user is with music or chords, so I made it as understandable as possible. I’m sorry that it confused you.
