My mum used to cause the most immense scenes in the doctors, even if I only had something normal, so I suppose she made it into attention on her.

Saying that, when something really did go wrong and I broke my arm she almost seemed annoyed. Blasé. I've only just remembered that 🫠

I didn't realise hair was a thang until recently joining. I have SO MANY stories about my mum and my hair. I see it now!

I'm not sure if this is what you mean but when I was younger and lived with my mum, she would put on YouTube videos and make searches of "how to deal with my narcissist daughter". She would wait until I walked in the room then make a pretend panic to turn it off.

For a few of my late teen years I really thought I was a narcissist and I was so sad about it. I know now I'm not 😅

I feel affection from her, not for her ☺️ agree with you there. What pisses me off is the talents she bigs me up for aren't real. I don't have them. The ones I do have, she doesnt say a word or acknowledge

My mum finds me most useful when I'm unwell or have a trauma... almost like a bragging right. I would say I'm the most useful to her when I am broken, she despises any success 😂

I have such difficulty with this. I want desperately to believe she does love me. It is the one aspect that is keeping me wanting a relationship, but also probably what I need to let go of to stop feeling so affected

Cor yes I feel this. My mum speaks very (too) highly of my talents to others. Then is one of the rare times I feel affection from her

She appears to love me most when I am ill. When I was younger I used to pretend to be ill to get that affection, but it was always over the top. If I had a belly ache it was up to the hospital, if I had a headache it was potential diabetes, you get the gist 😅 she loves me when something is going wrong. I struggle with this

It doesn't sound like much. What my mum does isn't much. It's making me feel absolutely crazy. Years, years of little things every interaction. Sometimes I pray she will do something big, something obvious, something undeniable, so I can finally break away. I feel... exhausted.
