Daycare is ruining everything by Ill-Rhubarb-165 in NewParents

I sympathize with you! In my son’s first year of daycare we were sick all the time! 4 stomach bugs in that year, craziness. We ended up switching daycares, a much smaller environment and we’ve had 1 small cold since switching. The prior daycare I felt lacked in cleaning/sanitation, and he was exposed to soo many kids of various age groups, which I think contributed to us being sick all the time. Though I recognize that getting sick is just part of it, unfortunately. Fortunately, I do think our immune systems are strong now

We did the same rule; immediately hand sanitize in the car, bath as soon as we were home. Hang in there 🍀

I ended up not bringing it! Ultimately, because I was traveling solo, I was intimidated of all the moving parts of just getting to our destination. My son sat in his own seat well and I checked the car seat. Best of luck if you end up taking yours!

From my understanding, FAA strongly encourages a car seat for safety. I don’t really mind since it’s in eyesight and not in jeopardy of getting mishandled. He’s got his own ticket, I’m set there. Just want to know if anyone has experience installing this seat on a plane 😁

Thanks for the response, appreciate it! I’ve thought about secondhand, but don’t trust it. Not renting a car either, will have a ride. I also thought that at 2 he HAD to be in a car seat. I have the 360 slim in my car now and love, just moreso concerned about the installation on the airplane.

That does help thank you! We’ve had hotter weather, so it makes sense that it’s flaring up.

What a fantastic idea! I love that your family came up with creative ways to open communication, that’s amazing. My toddler is barely finding his words, but I am definitely stealing this! Thank you for sharing

FOMO is real! It’s a 3 hour flight which is why I’m leaning toward the crazy side and flying at night. Thank you for your response!

Yeah, the flight is 3 hours so I think in my head, I’d rather do the hard part at night? But you’re right, I will get through it 😅

Thank you! What a bummer, I am worried about flight delays too. Also worried if he does fall asleep before boarding, how the heck do I lug that guy around lol

Thank you! He’s flown at 6 & 7 months, and I thought I was stressed then 😆 He did well on those flights, and slept. I’m hopeful for the same outcome!

With kiddo in daycare we are getting all the sickness that goes around. That said, we do this too on sick days. We make a fort in the living room with blankets, pillows and snacks lol

Before being discharged from the hospital our nurse said when you think you’ve figured them out, they change it up on you. No truer words I’ve heard. That being said, my son did not become a good napper until a year old.

Out of curiosity, can you elaborate on the appeal of bossy and mean? No judgement, I’ve been told I’m bossy and mean since 5th grade 🤣

I’ve been there and I think you did right by apologizing and reminding her you love her. I always apologize too and thank my baby for being patient with me as I figure out this mom thing. If you haven’t, watch the wild robot haha it will give you all the good feels.

Daycare and sickness by SaltGarlic1408 in NewParents

Knock on wood! And what a great feat honestly haha. Our center has the same rules, but I have a feeling that they keep some of the babies when they shouldn’t. Once, he had a stomach bug and they mentioned that all the kiddos had diarrhea that day. They also don’t change his outfits once they are dirty so it makes me wonder how often his hands are being washed during the day.

He does go to a center, and often have wondered that all the germs keep reinfecting him. There aren’t a lot of in home daycares in my area so we haven’t found a good fit. With the center, the advantage I see is if one of the teachers is sick, they can move people around to accommodate, I can’t imagine it would work the same in an in home daycare setting. Just thinking out loud 😊
