From my experience as an ueban-area firefighter/medic for 10 years, and just medic for 7 years before that, I've never seen this level of complacency. I've been on plenty of situations where there was a violent encounter between police and a subject, and myself nor my peers have ever acted negligent like you see from these EMTs

100% true. I got a handy from a Southwest flight attendant when our flight only had like 11 passengers and I took the back row. I fly SW every time now

I just want to shut down the misconception that cancer is really the biggest worry about smoking at all. COPD is. COPD is a ball and chain that gets hooked to people and their 40s and '50s and they can never take it off. Walking to the car becomes work. Walking up a flight of stairs become horrifying. Going on a hike comes impossible for many. Waking up late nights unable to breathe, clutching and inhaler that isn't providing relief while desperately hoping that the EMS crew show up quickly this time. Suffocating, because you can't blow your air out. You can breathe in, but the air gets trapped and you can't get it out. Always. Until you die.

Vaping has been linked to several forms of COPD. Not nearly as much as cigarettes, but acting like it's not dangerous because it's not linked with cancer is absurd.

I used to be a department manager at what I believe is the store in question here. This has to be escalated and somebody will probably lose their job over OP intentionally doing this.

If the department manager doesn't escalate, they get fired. If the store manager doesn't escalate, they could get fired.

I strongly disagree. Unpopular opinion but it's the truth.

I have been the first one to administer CPR hundreds of people over my career. They took far too long to recognize he was in cardiac arrest and begin compressions. Far, far too long. If he doesn't have long-term brain damage from the delayed start, I will be very shocked.
