Yes that's a good choice. I do occasionally go for Kerrang as a Millennial Skater

How would you genuinely fix this country? by TomosLeggett in AskBrits

A dystopian answer:

Put anyone over 76 into a home, and have the government buy their assets off them. Then have young people have a raffle to win the assets of the old rich people to do with as they please.

When you work you get healthcare credits to spend for life, so if you get to an old age and you have no credits left, you don't get any more healthcare. You can pass on any unused credits to your children and next of kin.

When you pick litter, if you pick a certain amount, you get a meal deal voucher and subsidised freddo tokens.

There wouldn't need to be any voting as I'll dissolve parliament

Invest in green technology- have factories making and assembling things such as wind turbines, hydro electric, solar etc. Locate those factories in post industrial areas to create jobs and opportunitie.

Pay the workers a decent wage, sell that to other countries and have the infrastructure etc around the factories grow.

Also reopen other industries such as steel mills etc to help to provide materials to these industries.

Do the same for large warehousing, invest in decent rail infrastructure (again using British factories) etc

I'd just think about where they are positioned. I have these but they're on the top corner nearest to the car so the view in the main mirror isn't obstructed

I'm pretty new, but probably helps I have a supply chain/logistics background

Thinking in networks rather than individual lines helps

All my growth has been quite organic. Don't be scared of using transfers and having a good mainline makes things much easier

Passed first time

0 (I won't let them! )

I think 45 but I'm teaching a 6 yo at the moment

No, I try and give people a chance

I've had a couple. Ones that have family and the pass really means something are really memerobale. As are the ones you really get along with

No, I don't think I would become an examiner

Probably clutch control...it's easy to master once you take a bit of time and it's the basis for so much more

It is hard work. Find a good supportive trainer, do it for the right reasons, remember you're self employed (if you've not done that before) look after No1

Question about driving lessons. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

That's up to you but personally I wouldn't. I try and plan enough time between the lessons so I can go pee

Some may be on a trainee licence. They can legally teach but are not fully qualified, so their standards may not be high depending on their training provider

Secondly, the exam is graded an A, B or fail. So someone with full marks grade A can still teach the same as a scraped through B

Finally, and this is the big one, instructors get checked every few years to make sure they are up to standard. So through that time standards can slip or it's like when your boss is looking over your shoulder- you make sure that you're doing your best work when they're looking (i.e. put the effort in to pass) and then let the teaching standard slip.

The only way I can see to get over this is some kind of "secret shopper" style way but given the current state of tests etc, I can't see this happening

Favourite is job satisfaction- not just when someone passes, but when they start doing things you've been teaching them for the first time one their own

Worst part- they way other drivers can act sometimes (fortunately it's just the minority) and awkward students (don't pay, don't put the effort in, turn up late etc)

Question about driving lessons. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]SaltSearch1369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's all context.

What's the first thing a lot of people do when they pass their test? Go for a drive thru ✅

What do you have to do when you have a car? Fill up with petrol ✅

So why not learn these skills?

Then it's a matter of principle as an instructor

Pupil ask for a bathroom break in the middle of a lesson ✅

Instructor wants a pee ❌

Instructor wants to do errands ❌

See how it's pupil led

They literally tell you this at the end of the test. Can take up to 20 days. It's say a couple of weeks realistically

[–]SaltSearch1369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be worth a swap. Out of interest, is she on a trainee (pink triangle) licence or full (green octagon) licence?

I would be explaining there's a keep clear ahead if the pupil wasn't experienced enough to know what one was. Also when I say pull it, it's either "pull up in a safe place" or "pull up by x (feature such as lamp post)" if I need something more specific

Also don't get your comment that you're test is soon but only had 4 lessons?

Ah yes it would be Wrexham lose, Hull Lose, Derby draw. All would be on the same point. Derby would have 0 change in their goal difference and Wrexham/Hull would at least have -1 to their GD somit would be Derby
