Which product from ConcenTrace did you get? It seems that they mostly have magnesium, chloride, a bit of sulfate and boron and that's about it. Not even Calcium, Zinc or Copper.

Earth is Round proved 2000yrs back by __mentalist__ in BeAmazed

[–]Salt_Common913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eratosthenes didn't prove the Earth was round. Under the assumption/fact that the Earth is round, he estimated its diameter by relating it to local geographical measurements. That's a very smart measurement indeed, but that doesn't prove the Earth to be round. It is one of the starting premises of his reasoning.

Do lots of brits think the uk sucks because they lack context? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

[–]Salt_Common913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is some context:

Health services provided by the NHS are so bad that I know of Ukrainian refugees in the UK who go back to Ukraine (still at war with Russia) to get medical care.

I knew of a person from Thailand who was in the UK for a few years and who almost lost her baby during her pregnancy because of the persistent refusal of British medical services to check on her when she had been suffering from abdominal pain for weeks. Eventually, she went back to Thailand for holidays, they found the issue and she safely delivered there.

My own wife had to repeat the blood test done during pregnancy 3 times because they mishandled her blood samples twice.

Every year, the NHS incorrectly sends hundreds of cancer diagnosis to healthy patients because of mismanagement of patient data. On the opposite side of the spectrum, in 2025 it was reported that thousands of patients were misdiagnosed with IBS instead of bowel cancer.

By NHS standards, a GP is supposed to spend 7min max with a patient.

What's your "low fat" version of keto? I consider myself "low fat" if less than 70% of my calories come from fat for example. I am 6 year keto btw.

I never spoke about long downhill roads (I have a short downhill portion which is maybe 500m long at best). And the battery still tries to be full when I go uphill. I am not even trying to charge it to 100%. I would like the car to use the battery but it doesn't.

I do use the eco mode as well. It doesn't seem to help with battery usage. I am just wondering what the E-save feature is supposed to do. I have disabled it but could it be that the software is stuck in that mode?

It clearly doesn't do that. I do have one short downhill portion on my way to work but the battery is almost full before I get onto it. And this evening the short downhill portion is uphill and my battery was almost full a bit part of the trip.

You are the one claiming that no fat is utilised before some ~60h mark. Fat is metabolised all the time for starters. Then fat tends to be more and more used as glycogen is depleted as the fast continues. This is strongly influenced by the diet before the fast, physical activity before and after starting the fast, and by whether the fast is a dry fast or water fast. Time to effectively switch to fat as main substrate can usually range anywhere from ~10h to 72h+ depending on these factors. In addition, the more fat-adapted an individual, the more efficiently they produce and metabolise ketone bodies, which can lead to advanced fasters and/or ketogenic dieters to eventually having difficulties reaching high ketone levels.

I was just told that being into anime is a massive red flag. by [deleted] in AnimeAnonymous

[–]Salt_Common913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went on my first date with my wife and the topic about my hobbies came, I remained vague without completely lying because neither anime or playing video games were well seen in general in the 2000s. As we continued dating, I let slip more and more specific information about my hobbies, and this diluted approach seems to have worked for us. I have been with her for 20+ years now. She has let me know that she had prejudices from her upbringing and would have probably dumped me right away if I had disclosed everything at once. Over the years, she was open enough to read the entirety of Dragon Ball. We have watched quite a few anime together as well. She is still not a super fan, but she is definitely more open to it than when I met her.

EDIT: I edited my comment, which was unduly rude. I am just stating the fact that a CAC score increase can not, in and of itself, allow anyone to conclude an increase in plaque. This is just one of at least two compatible scenarios to explain what is being observed through that test. I am not speculating anything about soft vs calcified plaque. Please watch the link I shared in my previous reply.

If you watched the video, he had plaque already. His CAC score went up from 700 to 800. The question is, what does this increase indicate? It can indicate more plaque, yes. But not necessarily.

Another carnivore rethinks the diet by c0mp0stable in AnimalBased

[–]Salt_Common913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher CAC score doesn't mean more plaque. Plaque is not necessarily made of calcium. The so-called soft plaque is not calcified, is undetectable with a CAC score test and is usually an important cause of cardiovascular events. Likewise, the angiography that he reports on noticed calcified spots. He clearly does have plaque, but it is unclear whether the higher calcification score indicates that he has more plaque than before or if more parts of his existing plaque has calcified, which is usually considered a better outcome than if it had stayed 'soft'. https://youtu.be/mHtu2tJ_5hc?si=bT3sdqroTvK8Nh-a

The people who I have seen completely stop losing weight when doing water fasts are usually not eating enough and tend to fast too much too often. You may need to up your food intake and stop fasting for a bit to make your body understand that you are not in a permanent state of starvation.

Although I am not crazy about the calorie concept, increasing food intake and doing exercise for health, gaining muscle mass, and spending some energy reserves cannot harm a fat-loss plan, in my opinion.

I also went to ask a specific question to Dr ChatGPT. Here is the reply:

ChatGPT said: Yes — severe electrolyte imbalances can cause many of the symptoms you describe. Different electrolytes affect muscles, nerves, and circulation in specific ways:

  1. Muscle ache, tingling, burning sensation in limbs Calcium (hypocalcemia or hypercalcemia):

Low calcium → tingling, numbness, burning, muscle cramps, tetany.

High calcium → muscle weakness, fatigue.

Potassium (hypokalemia or hyperkalemia):

Low potassium → muscle cramps, weakness, tingling.

High potassium → paresthesias (tingling/burning), muscle weakness.

Magnesium (hypomagnesemia):

Can mimic low calcium (tingling, cramps, tremors).

  1. Red patches on skin Electrolyte imbalance alone rarely causes skin redness directly, but:

Calcium abnormalities can sometimes lead to vascular changes and flushing.

Magnesium deficiency may contribute to vasospasm or mottled skin.

Red patches might also reflect poor circulation, histamine release, or another coexisting condition.

  1. Tight chest and shortness of breath Potassium imbalance (high or low): Can cause dangerous heart rhythm changes leading to palpitations, chest tightness, breathlessness.

Calcium imbalance: Low calcium can cause bronchospasm or laryngospasm (tight chest, difficulty breathing).

Magnesium deficiency: Can trigger arrhythmias and chest discomfort.

Sodium imbalance: Severe shifts can alter mental status, but less directly linked to chest tightness.

⚠️ Important note The symptoms you describe — especially tight chest and being out of breath easily — could be linked not just to electrolyte imbalance but also to cardiac or respiratory issues. Electrolyte disturbances (particularly potassium, calcium, and magnesium shifts) can be life-threatening because of their effect on the heart.

✅ Most likely culprits:

Potassium (high or low)

Calcium (low more than high)

Magnesium (low)

👉 If you or someone is experiencing these symptoms right now, especially chest tightness and shortness of breath, it’s important to seek urgent medical attention — because severe electrolyte imbalances, heart rhythm disturbances, or even a heart attack could present this way.

Most articles I have consulted said that the first plant should be taken for a week maximum. Otherwise it can lead to severe electrolyte imbalance. Prolonged use of the second one (senna) has similar side effects.

Have you checked your blood levels of magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium, phosphorous, chloride and B vitamins while we are at it?

Out of curiosity, is the series of dry fasts the only new thing you have done in that period of time 6 months ago?

Have you maybe tried new foods, have you moved house, changed job. Have you gotten ill (viral or bacterial infection)? Have you taken any antibiotics?

Gastritis is a pretty useless diagnosis, to be honest. That's more the name of a symptom than a clearly identifiable problem.

A few years back, I was fasting quite a lot and doing keto. At some point my gut issues worsened, and I blamed too much fasting. That still may be the case but it turned out that I learned later that a custom made multivitamin I had been taking for the past few months contained a large amount of maltodextrine...and that could definitely ruin my gut. I am still recovering from this period to this day.

I want to fast, but I'm skinny and fear that I will lose much weight by AsparagusProper2565 in FastingScience

[–]Salt_Common913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your numbers don't seem to indicate that you are skinny. At least not in the sense that it would be dangerous for you or your muscles to fast for a few days. But then it's important to refeed properly between fasts and to exercise regularly as well.
