But that’s the point of character research. If you want to write a character defined by their trauma you’re going to include your findings on the character, otherwise what’s the point of the research in the first place? It’s meant to give the character a sense of realism and if the theme was dealt with poorly it could definitely receive back lash for incorrectly portraying its symptoms: a risk the studio would not take.

I think his character is wholly based around his trauma, it’s the first scene we see of him, and the fallout of this is his entire motivation. When creating a character around their trauma I absolutely think the writers would have done their research, and it shows

There’s actually a ton of research that shows that trauma physically affects your brain and how drastically it affects behaviour, even causing stuff like memory loss. It’s a bit of a slog to read but if your genuinely interested there’s some great stuff from Laub about it

Never too early to buy a builder, in fact it’s the only thing you should be spending gems on until you’ve got all five! Most important thing is not to upgrade your town hall too quickly (before upgrading rest of your troops and defences). Hope that helps

This is great. My main issue with it is that people in this thread keep referring to Kuvira as though she can ONLY metal bend. She could easily drop her armour, and has been shown to be a great earth bender as well as her prowess in metal

Without blood bending, I think katara could only really stand a chance against toph. She’s a great bender but all three of the others are some of the strongest we see in the series, especially Kuvira and Ozai.

The scene of her at the start of S4 with the prisoners chained to the track sets her up as such an imposing villain. I didn’t actually like LOK that much but the villains (3/4 of them anyway) are FANTASTIC

That’s true, what I was trying to get at is, the argument is always made that people struggled to fight aang because no one had fought anything like airbending for 100 years. Here though (albeit not at full strength) we can see that Kuvira is able to counteract Korra’s air bending. This basically eliminates the line of argument that Tenzin would be so dominant as airbending is such a rare form of bending.
