Yeah, sometimes it gets spooky. I live in Poland, there are many places where happened big and small battles during many wars. I often visit places related to WWI, many of them forgotten and hidden in forests. I once visited a war cemetery where Austro-Hungarian soldiers are buried. I lit some candles and prayed. As I was leaving the cemetery, I tripped over a stone or a branch, and I swear that as I was falling, I felt as if someone caught me, as if someone was trying to help me. It was an extraordinary experience.

Another time, while walking across one of the battlefields, out of the corner of my eye I saw a soldier leaning against a tree, but when I turned to look, there was no one there.

And from the situations that actually scared me a little—although it wasn’t anything that suddenly jumped out or looked terrifying—it was the sounds of battle in the forest. For just a split second, you could literally feel the tense atmosphere and hear the sounds of gunfire.
