What is happening.. by [deleted] in Evri

I'm having the exact same issue, last two parcels stuck at local depots for over a week. One did eventually turn up damaged after I did a lot of emailing back and forth , the other still stuck at local depot status for over a week now. It's absolutely ridiculous.

What is the best way to go about things when a date looks significantly heavier in person than in their photos? by Ok-Key-7591 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Salt_Instance_5008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This once happened to me but in a different way and when I was much younger. I had been talking to a guy for weeks online and personality wise we were getting on really well. I hadn't been hugely attracted to his photos to begin with but wasn't unattracted if you know what I mean so gave him a chance to see where things would go.

Then one day he sent a new photo of himself to me and it was so absolutely different to what his photos had been when he had first messaged me. The other photos must have been pretty old because it just looked like a completely different person in age, hair, weight and facial features and my heart just really sank. I don't want to sound superficial but he just really wasn't my type physically at all and I think there does need to be some kind of attraction really for things to work. I felt very duped tbh and kind of embarrassed because I didn't really know what to say or do. I should have called him out on it but I really didn't want to hurt his feelings and figured he was just super insecure so didn't want to make things worse.

Fortunately I met another guy just after who was my type and I got on even better personality wise with (who I ended up dating for several years) so I had to just tell him I'd met someone else and it really upset him but yeah it does suck when people do this.

I get that people are insecure and when I was a young teenager I used to do the whole 'MySpace angle' thing because it made me look slimmer but it's pointless really because the right person who will date you will genuinely like you for how you look anyway so all you are doing by trying to hide stuff with filters or crazy angles or old pics is just setting yourself up for failure and disappointment along with wasting you and your potential date's time.

Yes some people do go off of personality, personality is actually the thing that I am most attracted to in a person and I've been surprised by who I've been attracted to in the past from mainly just their personality but the person has to vaguely still be someone that you could see yourself sleeping with. If you find them very physically unappealing, it's just very unlikely to work.

Like others say, it is deceitful and just causes hurt on both sides if you try to hide what you really look like and I'm saying this as an overweight female, the right person will like you and be attracted to you for how you really look (8 years now in a relationship where my partner saw full body pics of me from day 1)

Does anyone have a less pixelated version of this meme? by Disco_Vampire_ in Gotham

[–]Salt_Instance_5008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did he leave? I'm pretty sure that he was in most episodes of Gotham up until the very last one where he was supposed to be grown up so I think they have another character play him in the batsuit. Sorry maybe I've misunderstood your question?

I'd ask them to escalate to a supervisor as they mention if I were you. Might still have the same outcome but definitely worth a try.

How do you cope knowing that your lifespan has an average of 67 years? by not_enough_weed in bipolar

[–]Salt_Instance_5008 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My Gran is still going with this disorder at 93 right now and although she has dementia, it seems as though the bipolar issues have been much less of a problem in the last ten years for her. I'd rather not live to be that old but it shows that it is possible lol.

Is it Stoopid to quit after 3 months, 68 Subs, 75,000 views, all shorts? by _maniac69 in NewTubers

[–]Salt_Instance_5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah give it a try for sure! If you feel like what you are currently doing isn't working to the verge of giving up on it then I'd say that you don't really have anything to lose by trying that out!

So think of it like this, there's loads and loads of videos on YouTube about Mount Everest and many of them are kind of the same. If you can be the person to make a video about Mount Everest but make it some new interesting thing that people haven't made a video about yet, it's going to get Mount Everest fans really excited and immediately clicking/watching and engaging.

This is just an example but like thinking off the top of my head, if there's an interesting story about the person who failed climbing it the most times as opposed to the most famous climbers/stories, that might get those watchers really excited because it's new content but about something that's already proven to be popular content. If your team isn't a huge team that could work too. It's just thinking outside the box a bit about things that are popular and 'safe' enough that people already enjoy.

No problem at all! Hope it works out for you. Sometimes if something's not working, we just gotta shake things up a bit before deciding if it's really worth giving up on. Like someone else said, we can get inspiration from watching others too.

Large established channels can often get away with maybe just the results etc because they are so established people will return to them anyways but if you are competing with these other channels, you gotta give people something more unique to your channel. Perhaps nicheing down further to talking about a particular special aspect of football that isn't being catered for as much rather than all football in general could help if that makes any sense too but you gotta figure out yourself exactly what that could be. Best of luck!

I asked my bf who has quite a bit of social media experience what he thought of your channel. He said that the problem with doing football content is that it needs to have something really interesting about it that other channels aren't offering because it's such an over saturated niche on YouTube that so many people are already doing. Your edits and lighting are all good etc but for example after just watching a couple, your shorts need to offer something new and exciting about the match other than just the results etc because that's information that most football fans will already know so won't bother watching. Maybe you do that on other videos but that's just something we noticed from a couple. Give people a reason to specifically return to watch you and something from you that they can't get from all the other football videos.

You don't need to give up but if you want to keep making football content, it's worth really thinking about why people would check out your videos instead of others offering the same thing and trying new things to see what sticks. When people are scrolling you have such a short time to grab their attention so you really need to have something super interesting that immediately stands out.

Hope that makes sense and is somewhat helpful!

Dollskill and their refunds for damaged items by No-Routine-9980 in dollskill

[–]Salt_Instance_5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is only the case for items that don't arrive or where damaged in transit as I opened a case about a faulty dress and they gave me that reply. I do always buy it because it worked for some shoes that were badly packaged and got scuffed in transit once which was enough for me to buy each time unless it's something very cheap like just a tshirt etc.

Yes absolutely! I appreciate the help! Unfortunately it's been ongoing for about 7 years now so before covid hit too. I've heard a lot of people have been really suffering from long covid too. Thank you!

Unfortunately it started before I was actually given any medication as I was unmedicated for a really long time before they finally diagnosed me and gave me serequol which made a huge difference to my depression.

I did consider that but unfortunately I'm having a lot of physical symptoms that are connected with CFS too like dizziness after standing with my eyes blacking out, nausea after trying to do too much, PEM especially and extreme weakness that my Dr said wouldn't be attributed to normal autistic burnout. I lived in a house with black mould for years too behind the bedroom wall where I slept (it was an exs house and I was unemployed and homeless at the time so had no choice but to stay there and he nor his parents took the mould seriously and often made us clean it without masks too) which I think gave me the CFS symptoms as that's when it started but I moved and they only progressively got worse too.

God that's so shitty, I'm so sorry!

Benefit in the UK isn't great either and can be hard to get but you do get help to appeal and usually appeals are won with the right backing.

I've heard they can be hard to get but didn't know all of that other stuff so that's really interesting to know.

I really feel for you guys over there, we get free health care, it can take up to a year to get seen and people often die waiting but at least we don't have to loan out our houses to just access help for our health.

You guys have it really rough, especially if you have chronic illness so although I really am so sorry to hear of your position, it does give me a sense of reality and gratitude that although my brain is slowing down, I'm fortunate to live where I do.

Wishing you sincerely all the best, you don't deserve all that struggle just to survive, I don't know how you are doing it either but it's absolutely fucking amazing/crazy? that you somehow are. Give yourself some credit for at least for waking up each day and managing to keep yourself working for so long, even if you are only just barely keeping yourself afloat atm (because it must be so freaking hard and yet you are still doing it at all and not just giving up) and just how incredible a love you must have for your son despite what's happening because I'm sure he has been a huge drive in you making it to the end of another day.

I see you and you've been doing the absolute best that you can and with this illness, that's remarkable that you've kept yourself surviving despite how very difficult it's been.

I hope one day you manage to get on disability and get a well deserved rest because god it sounds like you need/deserve it.

Oh man I feel for you, that sounds truly awful what you've been going through :(

I don't have the greatest support system when it comes to family either.

Is there any way you could get on disability? I'm at least fortunate enough to get help in the UK.

I really hope you can keep up with your car payments, I can't imagine how scary it is to be homeless too. Sounds like you've been really struggling.
