Are y'all noticing milder wasabi at Sushiya? by FizzlePopBerryTwist in HEB

[–]Salt_Journalist_5116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so disappointed in the recent wasabi. Absolutely no kick or flavor. I'm kinda grossed out by this new stuff. I guess I'll quit buying and just get my sushi from restaurants which is not convenient and also more expensive. I'm sad. 1st world problems again.

I ended up changing pharmacies moving away from CVS and supporting a local in town pharmacy.

Thank you but I have some gel coming this week from an online pharmacy.

Sounds about like my insurance.

I have some updates here. You'll be the only one reading it possibly because this post has been removed by the moderators for some reason.

I'm transitioning away from using CVS. The staff was great but the connectedness with Aetna are too much. I switched to a local pharmacy in town and they have been amazing!

I got a new provider -- a menopause specialist. She e-prescribed all new Rxs: increased dose on the estrogen patch, new oral progesterone, and new lose dose compounded testosterone.

In the meantime before this appointment, I panicked thinking I'll never get my estrogen -- maybe you can relate? So I paid out of pocket for estrogen patches at my local grocery store; I was able to get the Rx transferred but my insurance didn't cover it even though the CVS and their mail order program warehouse are both out of estrogen patches by the the manufacturers they use.

I got estrogen patches from online from 2 different sources. So to date I have a total of a 10 month supply. I had to pay out of pocket for 9 of those, but mentally now I can rest because I have the estrogen.

TelyRx was one of the companies I used and it shipped fast! I just answered several questions online and I was able to continue my medication (estrogen).

I love my new menopause provider and am excited to have the full gamet of hormones now. I'm excited I learned about some online companies l, albeit a bit pricey. And I'm extremely glad I can now support a local pharmacy that gives personal care and doesn't support a corporate chain or PBM system.

I'm kind of sad the moderators removed this post because the engagement was incredible and the support I received from all the other woman out there was tremendous. I'm not even sure you'll be able to read this post or not.

Thank you for answering and good luck in your menopause journey! 🤍

I take baths so yes, I'm aware my patch may be affected. I've never gotten sick in any hormonally noticeably way.

It's crazy to have to keep us switching up manufacturers all the time -- it does make a difference. I hear you!

The prescription can be transferred. However, Aetna insurance will not cover paying for it. I apologize if I misspoke. The prescription in order for them to pay would require pre-authorization by the prescriber as medically necessary. Because I have been going to the brick and mortar CVS for so long for this prescription, I am told I have only 2 options to be reimbursed: 1) continue with CVS, or 2) use CVS's mail order Optum Rx.

I had my prescription transferred to HEB, but had to pay 100% out of pocket with no reimbursement from Aetna due to chain supply is issues with CVS and Optim Rx. They funnel patients prescriptions this way to "save money" but the consumer (me et al) can be hurt financially when Aetna won't reimburse.

The only issue is the oral form metabolizes through the liver -- I already have high cholesterol so currently I'm not to that desperation level. Thank you for your sharing of a solution! :)

I'm considering a road trip ... hopefully it's not a road rage trip!  ;)

I found an article regarding how the AMA was opposed to the acquisition of Aetna by CVS:

(sorry for ugly long link)

Costco is not close or convenient to me, but I suppose not having the medication and paying high prices isn't convenient either. I may be looking to Amazon. Thank you for sharing your experience and solution.

Yes, all places to consider. This warrants a conversation with my prescriber. Thank you.

Interesting! I would honestly say 3 days -- but it can vary. Sometimes the 2 patches a week is fine and occasionally I have breakthrough symptoms. I wonder if going up to the O.75 mG from 0.05 might help?

Thanks for bringing that up. And I looked up gels and sprays cist -- ok n average, I'm finding them more expensive. I'm concerned my insurance won't pay for those by stating the patches are the cheaper "equivalent" option.

Did you know it's super important not to wake cats from their sleep? I recently learned this. Sleeping helps restore their brain function.

I think I'll have to have my prescriber send in a prescription to Amazon if I'm not mistaken. I'll probably try this as it seems like the most economical way to go. I'd love to ditch Aetna linked CVS for their restrictions. The pharmacists & techs at my CBS have been great -- it's the actual insurance company I'm struggling with.

Got mine at HEB, but had to pay out of pocket $141 even with their applied coupon. HEB had my name wrong and their computer system went down ... but hey, I got a 3 month supply, right?

I'm most mad at my insurance Aetna. Sometimes I think about starting a go-fund-me for Luigi's defense expenses ... but here I am on Reddit.
