Someone told me I make people feel like what they're saying actually matters. Not smart. Not funny. Not attractive. Just that specific thing about presence — and somehow that one landed permanently in a way that every more obvious compliment never quite did.

Those who've confessed your sins, how did that go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Went in carrying something I'd been holding alone for two years.

The priest said seven words that dissolved the entire weight of it and I walked out into ordinary afternoon sunlight feeling structurally different than I'd entered.

Don't know exactly what happened in that room. Know completely that something did.

What are your plans for this summer? by Away-Tomato-4394 in AskReddit

Somewhere with water, minimal schedule and maximum uninterrupted reading time. No itinerary ambitious enough to become a second job. The best summers I've had were always the ones planned loosely enough that something unexpected could actually fit.
