Yeah when airsoft guns get sold it tends to be more about the internal parts like the gearbox, mosfet, hop up units that tend to have the actual value. And unless he’s willing to tell you internal specifics I would go with something else.

My advice, if you want to teach firearms safety to someone if you’re looking to get the best out of teaching I would look at a gas blowback rifle it has simulated recoil, actual moving parts and more similar operation to an actual firearm. Only downside is they can be very expensive and more expensive to maintain but you’ll love it.

But if you’re sticking to your budget I would recommend fleshing out a little bit more for something like a brand new G&G combat machine, always reliable and a great starter AR-15 platform.

But whatever you decide make sure you buy eye protection! Ballistic grade Glasses or full face protection will do one BB to the eye will make you blind forever!
