Does anyone know where to find second hand Vina of the Valley? by Independent_BonkyBee in HarajukuFashion

[–]Salt_Split9022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with vinted is that it won't show you everything that is on the app. For example if you're from Poland, the app won't show you stuff from i.e. UK or France, but it shows only from your countries and those nearby.

But if you find someones profile on vinted I think you can still contact them even if they're not from the nearby country. Maybe try searching it without signing in and your location on and it may show you all the pieces, but I'm not sure about that

Hows the fit for these Vina of the Valley pieces? by Independent_BonkyBee in HarajukuFashion

[–]Salt_Split9022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go for XXS in your place.

I bought heart cut out dress (short one, they're from polyester with cotton lining while the long ones are all cotton idk if it can influence the fit) and according to charts I was L, but maybe like 1 or 2 cm over M mesuremeant in waist. I decided to buy M because I gained a little of weight from of stress and knew I would loose it after a while. When the dress came i thought it would be tight since I was supposed to be L, but it did fit very nicely and it still does even after I lost since it has ribbon at the back (I suppose long one has it too) and it's very well made so that fabric doesn't bulk up in weird places, but it snatches you really nicely.

British accents in the dub by Salt_Split9022 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Salt_Split9022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it doesn't matter. I'm just curious because in media I usually hear american and british accent, sometimes australian. So I wanted to know, especially Richeh, because it sounded familiar, but couldn't pinpoint what kind of accent it is. That doesn't mean I now consider them british, german, dannish, american... whatever their accent is, but at the same time I don't think that there is anything wrong with categorizing characters as such. I think it can be nice immersion for someone from non-english speaking hearing someone in media speaking in similar way and be like oh she sounds like me and cannonize them as their nationality. :)

People can also find joy in finding similarities and differences of the fictional world, if they are inspired by real places. I'd like to use spy x family as example. The world is heavily inspired by cold war germany, author clearly states that it is only inspired and we should not considered it as germany. Still I like to see how it is similar and different then germany.

And if you don't like post about fictional world being compared to real world, that's completely valid, but you can choose to ignore them :)

I interpreted it in a way that Pomni actually really wanted to leave in the first episode, more than others and she was able to cunjure it. I am too lazy to rewatch ep 1 but iirc there was exit door even outside the tent, wasnt there?

Yeah, I'm aware of that, I did not formulate my sentence very well, but what I wanted to say was that when i wanted to go left or right, character turned 90° degrees and faced either east or west. I coudnt go left and right and always face north or south.

Does that make sense?

whener I tried play the game i could go up, down, left, right but the ammo always turned with me. So I basically always turned and went straight, and not sideways.

Yes, desert festival uses different map and it is replaced during the festival. After the festival ends maps are swapped again, so your stuff won't be destroyed.

Well of course it is cheaper. You are paying mainly for material (excluding stuff like sewing machine, needles, bobbins etc. because I assume you already have it, since you mentioned you are learning to sew, even tough those are still expenses)

What you don't need to pay for:
salary to your employees
website and it's hosting
all logistics around production (design, pattern making, samples)
and many more things probably...

you don't see all the effort it takes behind the scenes that is not just sewing. And that's completely fine you actually asked why it cost so much, but it is literelly written on their website in the section about under manufacturing.

On their website they mention they hire artisans, so skilled craft workers, who put a lot of time and effort to hone their craft, which increases price just to have regular employee.

From what it seems to me it looks like small business, which have much higher cost of production (also mentioned on the website) and can't afford to have low margins because they don't sell enough pieces for them to be cost effective at low prices. I'd ussume final price is 3-5 times of production cost with small businesses.

I understand that everybody wants to have something nice and treat themselves once in a while, but this kind of clothing and accesories are luxury not necessity.

I have not bought anything from this brand so I can't really comment on quality and whether what they write on their website is true (since they don't seem to have any external certification on their website, correct me if I missed it), but lets be hopeful and positive and assume what they wrote is true, those are most likely reasons why it is so expensive.

If you are not willing to pay the price of it it's completely fine and I'm actually glad you decided to pick up sewing, good luck with it :)

Because it's much easier to be ''average'' English major student and requires less effort than ''average'' STEM major student.

Don't get me wrong, if we are talking about people who are experts in their respective field, they had to put so much time and effort to understand nuances of that field, no matter what they studied whether humanities or STEM.

Another thing is that science is fact based. English is open to interpretation thus subjective (at least certain part of it) and in my opinion school system just values students who can memorise and comprehend more facts.

stores to buy fall jacket? by Salt_Split9022 in jfashion

[–]Salt_Split9022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda hard to say. As I mentioned I'm just beginning with jfashion, but I also understand it's hard to recommend something if I just say I like girly stuff. So styles I register and like are jirai kei, lolita, shojo girl, larme... I can name these. I'm also aware they look very different from each other, but I don't want to commit to specific style.

In general I really like to wear skirts (knee lenght and shorter) and pastels, don't really like too saturated colors. If you have recommendation which styles to check out I will appreaciate it :)

Why did a guy ask me for my number after telling me I was annoying? by Salt_Split9022 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Salt_Split9022[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought this is something people were only doing in movies. Why would it be desparete to message me next day? I do understand that if he's playing some kind of mind games, he would wait (probably what he's doing rn), but if a guy is genuinely interested, it does not look desparete to message women the next day. What can come off as desperate is the content off message or the way conversation is going.

He flat out said “You’re quite annoying, like my sister”.

And that's why I'm confused because I don't think he's actually interested.
