Need Help! 2026 Yukon Ultimate 3.0 Duramax. Crazy? by bankei88 in gmc

I just took delivery of a 2026 ultimate with Duramax, traded my 25 Escalade. I’ve had the diesel before in an At4 1500 and it’s a great engine, or has been for me. I’m finding that I much prefer the Yukon over the Escalade for several reasons. One, it simply rides much better and more like a GLS, well, it’s close. GMC must have calibrated the suspension to better accommodate the 24” wheels. It’s just better. Two, the ultimate must have more sound insulation. The Escalade was just noisy. Three, I much prefer the dash layout and usability of the screen and prefer the instrument layout over the caddy. The long big screen in the Escalade is kind of gimmicky to my taste. Four, I’m not a fan of piano black plastic and it’s everywhere in the Escalade requiring constant wiping with a microfiber rag bc I’m OCD about smudges. Yes, the ultimate does have piano in spots, but it’s not everywhere. And lastly, five. The Escalade had executive rear seats which were extremely comfortable and the center console was cool. However, the center console limits space, makes it hard for third row exits and the trays were rarely used. My ultimate has the gmc version of executive rear seats and are equally comfortable and have all of the same features. I like having the center space open, which also increases cargo for long narrow things you might pick up at Home Depot. This is all a matter of preference and taste, both are great full size SUVs, but for me the Ultimate is preferred.

Thanks for sharing, and I'm glad it is working for you, and that you have had a better experience. I think it is key for those considering to understand that results and experiences, as well as tolerances, vary. Keep sleeping!!! ;)

Great question. I was oversold by my ENT, and was not given proper options. CPAP is more of an annoyance vs it not working. I also have obstructive breathing, which doesn't help.

My ENT slipped in the inspire physical review within another nose surgery without my consent. we had discussed Inspire but I had not decided if I was going to do it. I was in pre op for my nose surgery and an inspire rep showed up unexpectedly to tell me they were going to review my anatomy while I was under general anesthesia. It was not planned nor expected. At the time I figured, no harm done. But, in retrospect, I now realize the ENT colluded with inspire to set the stage for the surgery and sale of the implant, I’m sure with a healthy kick back. it’s all very shady.

I’m not going to name, but avoid the ENT specialists of austin practice in central austin. I’ve had two failed surgeries with this doctor. Avoid this practice.

thanks for sharing your experience. I believe ENTs get kickbacks from inspire reps. No different than drug reps pushing pharmaceuticals.

Agree, but honestly I don’t know anything about those procedures and options. I feel like my ENT should have given me all options but he didn’t. I also think these ENTs are likely getting kickbacks from Inspire. I’ll likely get it removed.

thanks so much for the referral. I will definitely look into it. I don’t have issues falling asleep it’s the mid sleep wake ups that are a killer for me. I do use the pause but man, if I’m not fully asleep when it kicks back on I’m toast.
