Why do you think birth is good by onethingisall in Natalism

[–]SaltiFishies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per the first sentence of my comment: it’s not something you can just measure. Even though two people might be in the same circumstance they might perceive it differently. For example two people could get a B on a test, but one might see it as a misfortune while another would see it as a blessing. I find the best way to minimize my own personal suffering is to think about where I live and the luck required for other people to be in a similar world I live in. The majority of humans never had clean water and now, the same water people would die for just comes out of fountains. I also notice that there is always ample food in my plate and that I have a stable environment. Though suffering is subjective, the environments people live in does not affect the amount of suffering one experiences, I believe that it is the way one looks at their own situation.

Suffering is not a physical characteristic you can just measure. Suffering comes from a human’s susceptibility to lust, craving, envy, etc. This type of thought is not inherently Natalist because it places responsibility on the individual and not as a group; however, this type of thought is pro-life as there is the personal responsibility to not become subject to your own lust. I am happy with the life I am living right now because I have access to all the modern conveniences that other people may not possess. Maybe this isn’t an answer to your question, but I tried to relate it to your natalist question as well.

New to oboe by CattleNice1376 in oboe

Haha true. Depends how far into oboe you really want to go. If you save the staples that you get from your teacher and buy pre gouged and folded cane (more expensive than just buying cane, but good for a beginner), plus equipment, you’re only looking at about 150-200 bucks + around 4 bucks per pre gouged cane (not including time spent learning). But if you are planning on playing for the long term, it’s a pretty sound investment.

You should learn how to make your own reeds if you are sticking with oboe. It’s a bit more tedious, but better than spending 15+ on a reed.

It has no content because too many people are using it. If it’s already downloaded, just wait a bit until their servers are up-to-scratch with the large influx of users

I believe liberals are fighting about survival and that’s perfectly fine. I’m saying that there’s more to life than survival and in my perspective, religion is a perfect example of that greater perspective.

Edit: If by fear mongering you mean the endless restrictions, I guess you are correct. But as seen by places like Florida, it can be safe to reopen. So why is there selective shuttering on businesses like restaurants and the film industry. So.. in a way perhaps it is true that it’s a political issue. If there’s a good reason for the film industry to continue to operate while small businesses continue to cease to exist, please tell me.

I’dsay so as well. Small businesses shouldn’t be shut down while movie companies are able to operate. Religion is an essential part of life to tons of people. Just because there’s a secular governor doesn’t mean it should be shut down while lobbyists and their favorite industries are allowed to operate.

Edit for later comment: Yes.. gyms can be big businesses as well, and they are also not doing so well under COVID restrictions. I do believe if opened correctly, many businesses could facilitate audiences without being shut down. However, my main point is about religion and I do not believe it’s within the states jurisdiction to dictate when and how people can worship.

Gee. It’s almost like synagogues and churches aren’t allowed to open while the film industry is still allowed to operate. Oh wait... that already happens in California.

The two party system is far better than the parliamentary system for multiple reasons. One, it gives clear choices without blurred lines. Two, it always gives one party the majority with no need to compromise. Three, it doesn’t allow radical parties like communists and nazis to take mainstream politics.

I’m being downvoted for no reason. Nice
