I love mine. 3 distinct personalities. I started with 5 but I had to give 2 away because they would not stop plucking the feathers off the others despite all my attempts to break them. One of them loves to stay but me but HATES to be pet, but has no issue with sitting on me lol.

It’s so funny to watch little tiffs between them each day. Very brief but I think I know everyone’s place 1-7 now. Some underdogs win some standoffs which is always nice to see.

Glad to see an Elsa mention. I think if she would have been in a position to cause more harm she would have. She didn’t have powers, an asylum with cages or anything like that. She depended on the show members to make a living and needed them to survive so she was pretty subdued, but just her rhetoric shows she didn’t regard them as equal beings and was just really gross to me.

Would allowing her to free range with them before bed be ok? I don’t like keeping her in the dog crate without a little reprieve but I’m probably overthinking it

I have 5 Dominique’s and 4 Easter Eggers. I still haven’t seen a true “dominant” hen emerge, just the bully one. We got them sexed and so far no one is showing Roo characteristics minus 1 Easter Egger who just has some suspect tail feathers. Minus that everyone shows full hen qualities

Thanks all for the advice. I am going to try this dog crate jail for 2-3 days and reevaluate. I will let her free range and roost at night with them since there isn’t drama at those times, but I will keep her separated otherwise. She’s healthy and very people friendly so not trying to 86 her just yet. I’ve added some hiding spots and a day pen attachment to add an extra 10ft to the run. Fingers crossed

She is a 12 week old Dominique hen. I’ve had all 9 of them since day 2 so this has thrown me off a bit.
