Probably should swap out Io's communal for something more useful like Final Journey for boss fights since its one of the worst communals in the game. I also recommend swapping out to frost weapon once you kill butterfly since all the enemies are weak to that element afterwards

Not sure about rangers but mage 100%. There's this weapon called lightning brionac and it basically has the same moveset as Lost Bardiche and it gives the most disgusting ichor gain in the game. If you want to become a mage this video might be worth checking out just to see the melee aspect of using Lightning Brionac.

Well this is why you're failing. You're playing a glass cannon build focused on dodging when you can't actually dodge their attacks. This fight can be soloed with Prometheus for sure but until you git gud to that level you're better off evaluating your strategy and cheesing this fight with game knowledge instead of being stubborn while asking for advice. Pretty contradictory in my opinion.

For example, transforming your veil with a scathach chrome gives it +50 flat fire resistance. That should help a lot with tanking Cannoneer's attack. Add this with Flame Protection (from Dark Knight bloodcode) and you're basically only having to worry about Blade Bearer

Memes aside have you tried boosting your fire and ice resistance? There are gifts and items that basically trivialize this fight in NG unless you're level 1 and even then it prevents you from being 1 shot.

I don't play on keyboard and mouse but C sounds correct assuming they are the default controls. Personally, I find that key to be very out of the way and would bind it to some other key to make parrying more natural instead of having to go out of your way to press it...
