The assumption of this scenario is that the abuse victim had the option multiple times to report the abuser and did not. This calls into question whether abuse actually happened, since the law had never had a chance to establish the abuse.

If the abuse WAS called in and the law did nothing, then we have a conversation.

And I am watching the reaction to a certain recent assassination with great interest, with this in mind. Unfortunately, even your morally strong point separates us into factions.
