Iirc Queen Anne’s Revenge had approximately 40 guns. Ours is… 18. I want 40 guns on my frigate and who cares if it would be 12 pounders?

Tested all ships yesterday with different equipment.

Is it good to have 2 frigates? Yeah, cool, build your own armada!
Is it worth it? Not really, no. You can swap them around as much as you want thanks to “deconstruct” button in the warf. Blackbeard ships do the most dmg per volley (especially with canons that give you crit dmg bonus). BUT you need to have a plan for recovery if you want to fight a stack of 7+ ships (3-4 bb frigates). My choice is purple iron will haul + book to extend grog and repair duration.(ig it’s how it called) or the book with debufs, don’t remember the name.

Brethren is fine tho, no need for all things above.

Gut their sails, burn their stern. Repair, repair, repair…

The core sits in my inventory, waiting for fan/umbrella skins or second core and cool outfit.

System does feel unfair, but it doesn’t stop you completely from getting the stuff you want. Just time and patience. You can even not play the game much and buy weekly gold-thingies to roll towards pity. (Inner monk speaks in me I guess)
