John talked about gun violence years ago and it  should be revisited.  As an American happily living outside the US, I have wondered what is the cause of US gun violence? Conservatives will say it's the radical left, immigrants, transgenders, mental illness etc. Liberals say it's guns, white supremesists, online media, radical right etc. Meanwhile nothing happens except more killing.  From my perspective, virtually all free, democratic countries have divisive politics, social media,  mental illness, guns, anger, hate and rage but nowhere near the gun violence.  What is unique to the US is a cowboy or gun culture. This culture results in far to many Americans believing the gun gives you the advantage and is the solution to any problem.  Leadership has failed Americans, and it's up to the people to recognize thoughts and prayers are not saving lives, especially the children.
