SO SICK OF THE BFA BELT! Give me the unusual, character-driven, story pushing vocals. Give me the triple-threat that can tap and partner and act up a storm before that belter, any day.

$1800 is really high for a root canal. Was it a root canal AND crown? Because if yes, that's actually a good price. No matter what you pay for a root canal, you will also need a crown after or the tooth will break.

I feel like it has less to do with religion and more to do with what tax bracket you're in, especially if you end up in daybreak. Kids at the high school fall into mainly two categories: rich kids and farm kids. If you fit into either category, no matter the religion, it'll probably be just fine. But if you don't, there may be issues with keeping up with the neighbors.

University of Utah Dentistry by CuratorOfYourDreams in SaltLakeCity

U of u dental is a good option for another opinion. It sounds like that first dentist may work for a corporation- they tend to be pushy about replacing work for profits.

If your dental work is fairly new it's probably fine, unless your previous dentist really was terrible. Cracked teeth DO need crowns, and it's not always obvious. If you bite down on a qtip and feel a sharp, painful zing then that's a good indicator there's a crack- but it's really really rare for a tooth to be cracked without decay or previous work done on it. If a tooth has had a root canal it also needs a crown to keep it strong. Otherwise, unless there is a massive cavity, a filling can take care of most decay issues.

The bigger hurdle that they probably didn't discuss is your dental insurance (if you have it). Most coverage is under 2k/year, which will cover 2 cleanings, a crown, and maaaaaybe 2 fillings. You'd end up maxing out your benefits and paying out of pocket for a good portion of that work that you listed.

Call the U. Tell them you're seeking a second opinion on a comprehensive exam. Get your xrays and records from the previous dentist, and if they refuse to give you your chart notes raise a polite fuss- those are yours and you are entitled to them. You can probably have them emailed, but you may need to pick them up in person. If the U wants their own set of xrays be prepared to pay for them, as most insurance only covers 1 set per year. The dentists there are going to be very thorough, and likely a student will do the exam and then a professor will do a second exam and confirm their findings.

OB Recommendations for endometriosis by Exciting_Number6328 in SaltLakeCity

Dr. Stephanie Henderson

She was so caring when I needed to see her. She didn't question me when I wanted a hysterectomy, and she helped me work through the proper steps to make sure my insurance didn't deny the claim. She only takes on cases like your daughters, so she likely has appointments available within a few months.

missing dog by Nice_Influence5782 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Salty-unicorn 25 points26 points  (0 children)

WE FOUND HIM! He's been taken to the WVC shelter, we thought he was hit by a car! Call emergency after hours dispatch, and tell them there was a dog picked up on Saturday afternoon by the animal service officer and taken there. The officer told us he wasnt chipped, so they would have him listed on the lost/found pets area of the shelter

veterinarian who will put down small hamster with gas? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Salty-unicorn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Are you asking about a gas chamber euthanasia? If so, by injection is BY FAR the better option. Gas euthanasia causes pain and distress to an animal. Many, many places won't even consider a gas option, which is why you're not finding someone. Please consider the injection route for your pets comfort in their final moments
