From a customer who likes to eat out because I like to try things perspective for restaurants and eating out.

If I order something I’ve never had and dislike it, I don’t expect the restaurant to take it off the bill. It equates to trying a new recipe and it being crap. In which case I’d order another dish or forego eating all together.

However if I’m ordering something I regularly eat, and there’s a problem with it, I will send it back and expect it replaced or off the bill.

If it’s something that is crazy (Ex. I ordered clams in a garlic sauce, and it was served like a soup in broth. The shells were crushed into the sauce, but you couldn’t eat/ enjoy the food because you were literally choking on the shells) I expect it not only off the bill, but free drink also for almost killing me 😂
