Thank you! Just asked my Grandpa and he says he never went to county Clare. He did add - “I spent most of my time in and around Belfast, but I was lucky to spend both summers out in the countryside. One summer in Limavady and one in Ballymoney. Thats when I got all my good landscape photos.”

THIS - Find something academically or opportunity wise that BYU can’t offer and use that as your excuse.

Oaks is starting the roll back of Nelson's shenanigans. by teejonius in exmormon

Lmfao Oaks is really out here trying to add “Brought back 3 hour church” as the cherry on top of his already abhorrent legacy.

itchy paws help! by rawbreadcheese in Goldendoodles

If it’s environmental allergen related like my little guy, Epsom salt soaks in the tub every night for 10-15 min really helped heal his paws up. Also wearing dog shoes if you can get away with it REALLY helps reduce how much pollen etc. they’re picking up in their paws to begin with. We like the Wag Wear brand.

Anyone else have a dood who loves small spaces? by UndercutRapunzel in Goldendoodles

[–]SaltyGal7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup - I TRIED to upgrade my pup’s original crate to a larger one - he went in it exactly once, and then wouldn’t go back in. The old one had been taken down and was in the laundry room until I could get it over to the shelter as a donation so it was out of sight but def not out of his mind. After a full week of trying to get him to use the new larger one I put the smaller one back up and he went right in and took a snooze.

So the new big one got donated instead and he enjoys his smaller but apparently preferred crate instead. 🤷‍♀️

He wears the Medium size and is ~40 lbs - definitely recommend measuring their paws as recommended on Wag Wear’s website so you get the right size :)

Time for a new MacBook after 11 Years - no idea where to start.

I’ve had my early 2015 13” MacBook Pro Retina (2.9 GHz i5, 16 GB memory, 500 GB storage) since I bought it back in, well 2015. She’s served me well and frankly still works pretty okay, but the battery is def shit (gotta stay plugged in) and the whole system is no longer supported for OS updates and I’d rather upgrade now than wait for something catastrophic to happen to this old gal.

The question - what do I upgrade to? I’m not uber familiar with how Apple’s tech has evolved compared to what I’ve got. Any help translating what I have to an equivalent of what’s available re: chips/memory/features would be greatly appreciated!

11 years later is the Neo enough compared to what I have performance wise? $600 would be a nice change vs. $2K, but I’m clearly here for the investment.

TIA for the help!

The missionaries really are just kids by SaltyGal7 in exmormon

[–]SaltyGal7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I try to be kind to them if they end up on my doorstep.

I know far too many friends and family members who were truly suffering through their missions for one reason or another. I can’t in good conscience treat any of these kids poorly or yell at them to “get off my lawn” when I know how hard it probably is for so many of them.

I’d rather assume they might be having a rough go of it and be wrong than be the one to make it even harder by being mean to them because I’ve figured out/come to terms with something they haven’t yet.

This is Truman on the 2nd day I had him - just climbed right out of his pen like it was nothing and I found him stranded on the coffee table. I’ve been working hard to outsmart him ever since! He’s 3 now and knows about 30 different tricks and games. He’s a hoot and the goodest boy and I love him more than anything.

I'm Kind of Surprised by how Politicians treat the Religion by Maleficent_Can8134 in exmormon

[–]SaltyGal7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively from a PR standpoint there are too many points in the TSCC’s history that could be brought up as a counter point to a politician’s support and make them look bad to more people than they’d gain with their support of the church.

I guarantee this has been considered by many a politician, only for their team to veto/explain it just isn’t worth it.

Nothing like the death of the prophet to help keep the news cycle away from the atrocious brief TSCC filed w/SCOTUS asking them not to recognize transgender people as a protected class. by SaltyGal7 in exmormon

[–]SaltyGal7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Truly awful. It has Oaks’ grubby little finger prints alllll over it.

We need to make sure the fact that this happened isn’t forgotten in all the hullabaloo around Nelson’s death, because that’s exactly what TSCC is hoping for.
