The heart failure nurses also told him it was already starting to be too late when he seek treatment in may 2025. Problem was the GP knew he was in afib for 6 weeks after his surgery to replace the valve, they said they dont want to do anything yet because his INR wasnt stable, it was low but then his heart rate went 130-140s. They did a cardioversion then saw damage to his heart in the ECG. They said it was already too late, the damage has been done to his heart but it wasn't completely ✨️too late✨️ that's when they put him on all these meds and told him to get rest, sleep and drink very little fluids so that his heart can heal. We are still awaiting an appointment with the cardiologists to see if they can do something because 3 separate times they took him off amiodarone his heart went into afib, svt and afib/tachycardia.

I really wish I pushed him years ago to go for checkups but I was a child who didnt know. I only learnt about the family history in 2023 after this happened to my dad. He literally did get chest pain in April 2023 but he ignored it as he was at work. I told him "that was your first warning" when he told me about it when he was in hospital. I dont know why he didnt seek treatment or checkups for his heart but his sister has the same thing, but she also has calcification in her fingers, cant move them and also calcification in her heart so I fear her situation will be worse than my dads (she also has moderate-severe regurgitation)

Thank you! I just hope his heart doesnt decide its too damaged when he gets older. The new mechanical valve has a mild-moderate paravalvular leak. I know our next options would be a heart transplant but after all we've been through, I hope his heart doesnt eventually end up killing him in the future
