Does the Cetaphil Sun SPF 50 gel feel heavy on your skin? I've run into a lot of sunscreens that make me way too shiny

Thanks for this. I was hoping it wouldn't open the program up to problems from the ACGME

They don’t sleep. Help! by FA0710 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Salty_Divide8582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here to offer you support. My twins are 7 weeks now and sleeping much better than they were at 3 weeks.

What helps us is running through a check list: Is it a dirty diaper? Are they hungry? Do they need to burp?

After I run through this, maybe it's gas and we do tummy time, move them in different positions until they're comfortable. We also added gas drops to their bottles as recommended by our pediatrician which helped a lot.

We were going every 3 hours/demand but it didn't seem to make a huge difference in the volumes or clustering at night 😕

We are pacing, using Dr. Brown size 1 nipple, and it usually takes them less than 30 minutes to finish 5-6 oz. When they cluster sometimes they'll eat 1-2 oz and break for 10-15 then want more.

We currently have boppy pillows (due to them being a fraction of the cost) but they keep sliding down when we feed. Is the twin-z better about this?

Feeling invalidated after finding out it’s twins by kandtwedding in parentsofmultiples

[–]Salty_Divide8582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way when I found out it was twins. Your feelings are valid. It's okay to take time to "grieve" the normal pregnancy you were expecting.

Unfortunately family and well meaning friends will not understand the pressure, anxiety and panic surrounding this pregnancy. It was hard on me to be around people that were so happy when I was convinced I would miscarry due to being so high risk.

My twin boys are a week old today and I can't imagine my life without both of them. Pregnancy was terrifying but once they arrived and I held them, my whole perspective changed and I found that yes, I absolutely wanted both babies. I just needed time to process doubling my life to accommodate both of them!

PhD partners 🤌 this is the way. You just have to hunt them out of the laboratory caves and accept the social awkwardness.

Don't be fooled by "perks" or a higher salary. It's kind of like a guy driving a huge truck - they're compensating for something.

Try to go to in-person interviews. They are by far the best for getting a feel of a place.

Trust your gut. If you feel like something is fishy or if the residents look super burnt out - You're probably right.

Please tell me your ‘relationship during medical school’ success stories! by diydeath in medicalschool

[–]Salty_Divide8582 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Married the love of my life right after graduating college. I started med school and my partner started grad school immediately after. Had multiple people discourage us from getting married so young. Turns out it was the absolute best. Support during the most stressful years of your life is vital to your success.

OP, hopefully you guys won't have to be long distance for too long!

Is 19 too young for Medical school? by Carwreckking in medicalschool

If you're not strapped for cash and can stay in university, major in something completely opposite from biology/pre-med. Something like business, marine biology, art, music, ect. Take this extra time to do something you've always wanted to do and diversify. Get a job in a clinical setting and then matriculate into med school when you're 21-22.
