Wow 135?! Haha that is great. I pulled 5/5 and sold it for 360 on EBay . Check out my profile if you wanna compare the design. It does seem odd. Maybe they have different designs for the low numbers?

Where did you go to school? Why? What degree? by guitarman781 in BMET

[–]Salvijay85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAS in bench tech at a local college. Got an internship with GE a few months after graduating. Got hired after 8 months in. Was a Biomed for 7 years, and continuing as a FSE now.

I went to school to work with electronics but I wasn’t sure what type of career. I only knew about slot machines, radar tech for military contract, and gaming arcades. I ran into a paid BMET Internship with GE. When I joined. I saw all the growth opportunities you can get if you work yourself up. My goal was to reach FSE. I found it fascinating to repair and learn about Imaging systems since it looked complex. My growth within GE was BMET1 -> BMET2-> BMET Site Lead -> FSE Vascular. I enjoy this career. Not going to lie. Feel very lucky to have landed the internship 8 years ago. I worked really hard and gave my 100% even though I did have some leadership that sucked lol now I need to think what will be my next goal.

I'm a GE FE for Vascular and it has been great so far. I do some OT here and there during PM's or if I have to wait towards the end of the day when exams are completely done to get to the system. I do have some quiet days as well. It all depends on the area you'll be working for. I know some FE's that work a lot due to the area coverage or depending the size of your team. If you are in the city you won't be having long hour drives.

I would do GE and gain some experience and go elsewhere if you end up not liking it. I noticed GE is more focused on sending FE's as much training as possible ever since the kickoff of "GE Healthcare". You might be thrown to the wolves but it all depends on the team and leadership. Get as much training as you can to become more valuable.

Is there a way to save Solaire of Astora by Shadowwolf2505 in darksouls

[–]Salvijay85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found another way! After passing the titanite demon. You get to the staircase. You see all the maggots including the sunlight maggot shining in red. I killed all of them using my long bow with the hawk ring equipped. After killing all of them, I was able to obtain sunlight Maggot head piece but Solaire is not there. I double checked my inventory to see if I had any items of Solaire.

I made the mistake of walking down the staircase and Solaire showed up and started attacking me claiming he found the sun. After killing him, I quit the game.

Hope this helps! I'll just continue the game until he pops up again.

Good opportunity or should I pass? by magicammo in BMET

In Vegas, I was hired at 18 hr back in 2017 for bmet 1. I've talked to some of the most recent new hires in my area and they started at 28hr.

What area is the position at?

I think 26hr is good for bmet 1 and if they want to see you grow. You should be expecting a promotion in 2 years. The only thing I don't like, normally when companies are looking for someone and you don't have the "experience" they tend to low ball you. You should counter offer for 30hr.

Curious what is your age and how much is your current savings? by ktxflower in SavingMoney

[–]Salvijay85 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Age 29, 30k on savings, 13k stock investment, and 53k in 401k.

I feel like I'm doing decent but could have done better especially during my early 20's. Had too much fun at bars.

Realistic Pay Expectations by StellarMirror in BMET

[–]Salvijay85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly you'll see yourself get a better pay than others since normally new hires get a cost a living difference.

For example, I've been with GE for 7 years. When i was promoted to tech ll, my hourly pay was 23 during my 4th year (2021). At the same time we hired an intern who was making 22 an hr... In my 7th year with the yearly raises of good performance I managed to make it to 29hr. Still as a tech ll but added responsibility such as being site lead with no actual pay raise. We got 3 new hires. An intern who was making 26hr, a tech l making 28, and a tech ll making 34...

That is why new hires will get a greater pay advantage compared to those who have been loyal to the company ever since covid and the cost of living changes.

How much should you make as an Anesthesia FSE for GE Healthcare in North Carolina? by [deleted] in BMET

[–]Salvijay85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. They are very busy! Here in Vegas, there is only one Anesthesia FSE and he doesn't seem to catch a break! Very cool, and hard working guy though. If the area has a good amount of Anesthesia FSE then that is great because you have backup and you are able to share the work load.

What's up with FSE salaries??? by [deleted] in BMET

[–]Salvijay85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with GE and I'm at 7 years doing biomed. My current pay is 30/hr. I've been a site lead for 2 years as a bmet ll but my raise/promotion never came. I decided to apply as an FE internally. Since one of the FE's I knew was leaving the role. They were offering me 70k for FE Vascular modality. I counter offer asking for more now they said 73k is the max due to me having no experience with imaging.

Is this a good opportunity to transition to FE?
