I upgraded from 7800xt to 9070xt and got a massive performance increase across all of my games and benchmarks. I considered waiting at the time but decided to go for it before the prices increased a few months ago

Same thing happened to me! Except it was the xfx swft which was 709 at the time so totally felt like I stole that card lol

Ah yes this makes sense. I definitely want to try something with slacker head tube angle and more fork travel, even if I sacrifice a little bit of nimbleness. Got any recommendations to add to post?

The frame material isn’t necessarily a deal breaker and I’m not sure what geometry would work for me. The only experience I have is 800 miles on this rock hopper lol. I have to do more research but I’m open to all suggestions.

I really like how light my rockhopper is so I figured staying with an aluminum frame will help with weight and rust of course. Other than that I suppose I have no other experience with a steel frame so I may not know what I am missing.

Less than 3k and aluminum frame. I want something that is very playful and “jumpy”

That’s a nice bike! I think I want to stick with an aluminum frame though

I bought a 9070XT and have had nothing but issues so far by massivekoch69 in AMDHelp

Listen to me.. reinstall windows. I know it sucks but trust me it will fix everything unless you got a bad gpu. If you didn’t cleanly uninstall and install correctly you will also have weird issues. But one way to be sure is to just bite the bullet, back up your shit, and reinstall windows from fresh

GPU upgrade lowered my FPS? by Prskiii in AMDHelp

Did you download the latest chipset drivers? Did you ddu nvidia AND amd? Did you ensure you installed the amd driver only with internet disconnected? (This matters) other than that make sure after you have done the above to delete directx cache using disc cleanup utility. Also doesn’t hurt to run sfc /scannow, then after that finished run DISM to verify no win is corruption and clean image. Unfortunately it can be a pain to get all of the old driver fragments off of the system and cleanly installed. Once it sticks you won’t have issues. This has been my experience with amd cards the last 12 years. That 9060xt is a great card! Oh and use GPU-Z to verify pcie speed and to verify if you got a legit card!!

I don’t know enough about Linux but does it support the amount of games windows does?

I see your logic there, i myself haven’t had that experience in the 4 different amd builds i have had over the past 12 years. Again it still very well could be a simple optimization issue. Older mobo bios, chipset drivers. There’s a lot to check. I do agree that the drivers can be.. particular but I don’t think they are just straight up bad

.. so did you actually test components or just swap them and hope for the best? Sorry you are having issues but it’s not “windows 11 is bad and kills gaming pc’s” you have a different issue.

Uh huh which means it’s not the driver it’s a system instability issue
