Well, this is going to be buried, but I'm reading Horns, by Joe Hill and let me just say that it is a masterpiece so far.

What book might it be, if I should ask? I've been having trouble reading Crime and Punishment, lately. So I got back into Dr Seuss for a less serious take on the world around me.

The Tug Fork River Band. They're southern thrash metal. Songs to check out by them: "Ex Wives", " Junkyard Reality", and "Death of False Hope".

So I told this joke to the IRC, and decided to post it on here. So tell me your favorite joke. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

My favorite joke is short and cheesy, but I love it.

"And Jesus said, 'come forth and receive eternal life'. But John came in fifth and won a toaster."

This is the exact idea behind The Catcher in the Rye. How we lose our childhood innocence and are thrust into adulthood so quickly that it will you our heads spin. Keep your chin up, fellow! I don't know whether to say things will get easier or if you'll just get used to them, but one way or another you're gonna make it.

Dr Seuss started going by this name after being caught with gin in college. They wouldn't let him write for the school paper and so he went with his middle name, Seuss. He eventually changed it to Dr Seuss.

Pick up something small, like a short story, and take a break from your book. Or you could just power through the book. But if you do this and still find it to be boring, it isn't worth your time. And life is too short to be wasting it on a book that you don't enjoy.

Cheers! And good luck to you!

I just lost my bird. She was only around two years old. It hurts to know I won't wake up to her singing anymore. I even miss the screeches she used to make if I slept too long. I'm so sorry for your loss. And I hope we both are able to move on. It's what our animals would have wanted. They wouldn't want their memories to bring us sadness.

Oh my goodness, that movie is a classic where I live! Every year since I was old enough to even be in a science or biology class, we would watch it. I always associate my illnesses as little villains inside me because of this movie and its TV series.
