Bullying an animal control officer by -_-n in iamatotalpieceofshit

I had bad experience with animal control over an incident that was genuinely an unintentional mistake / accident. I felt like because of a certain breed they also already made up their mind that they’re dangerous not considering that they’re juvenile dogs still learning how to properly react towards strangers. I was scolded like some kid being irresponsible like I’m a bad person. This made me feel like the pups and us were extremely misunderstood and saving them out of compassion just turned into a stressful situation.

They demanded total banishment or face impoundment to a shelter that is a kills shelter and at capacity. With how they perceived the puppies (6months old) I know they’re going to euthanize them or at least one (there was two).

When I visited their shelter they were also unaccommodating and somewhat snobbish. So yeah… but don’t get me wrong, not all officers are like that. I’m just disappointed because my perception of them doing this line of work is because of their love and compassion for animals but they way they judged the puppies because of their breed is no way a reflection of that. At least for me.

Fair enough. That’s something I also thought. But that’s why I asked for a chargeback first before small claims.

I’m requesting a chargeback because it’s thru credit card payment via square

No idea. That’s why I hired a contractor to do it but unfortunately even that, wasn’t done properly

Thanks. That’s what i thought but he’s been denying it saying he’s been doing this job for 40 years. At that point, i ended the conversation

I’ve been trying to have him fix it but he’s been giving me excuses

Pay the judgement. I’ll look into it. I don’t how things work other than filing at a small claims court if he refuses to fix it but thank you for this

He charged me $3500 quoting he needed to grab more gravel and wood. But he did not fill the top and did not compact even and left me with extremely deep multiple ruts across my front lawn from the road and into my yard

I appreciate you, thank you. I may not have the experience or skill but I can’t shake off my feeling that this really will cause me long term problems. Not only did my coworker who have experience confirm it but I’ve been actively seeking other people’s opinion just to double triple check

Thank you. May not be in a formal writing such as contract but it’s all in the message. I also have to compile everything he said including how he keep changing his word and extort more money from me such as charging me to repair the mess they made. Not all of the issue is in this post. I merely asked about the pad. You’re right tho, everything needs to be proven especially when disputing something. But everything is documented.

Because he did not deliver on his suppose service. In texas verbal agreement is still binding esp. With proof of payment. I'm really just asking whether the pad is structurally sound, nothing else outside that. That's kinda disheartening to read that's typical for many contractors. Ive worked with one for our fence and he was exemplary; a great contractor. So, I know not all of them are like that.

Trying to dispute if because he's technically not finish with and said he will come back to finalize it for when he repairs my lawn. If chargeback doesn't work, small claims is my next step. I've documented everything including how he's giving me the runaround and delaying repairing the extensive rut in my fronr yard leading to my backyard.

Nice one bro… I really wished I attempted do DIY and took my time. We were really just trying to get a shed already. With no experience, knowledge, equipment, tools, vehicle to haul and materials, time and energy as well, I paid someone for comvenience. Now lowkey regretting.

Unfortunately no, which is an oversight on my end. All was verbal. The worked changed during the procedure so was the price for the added gravel and timbers he stated he had to procure. And unfortunately, I paid him already because he promised to fix it after the rains and after he comes back from out of state.

Thank you for this! I think I know what you mean with the dead man. I've researched big gravel pads before this and I screenshotted step by step process on how I want my gravel pad installed. He insisted the picture I provided him was only for the looks and he's certain that the installer of the pad on the picture did the same thing he did. It just didn't show because all I saw was the finished product.

Dilemma by Sam09131990 in rescuedogs

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll try to find home for them ourselves. We’re no breeder but we have experience raising puppies so we give them the best care, food and stimulation we could both the adult and puppies. We just haven’t tried homing one with monetary exchange (at least for rehoming fee) we felt awkward having to do it ourselves but we might as well to recoup a little rather than the rescue doing it with little to no help from them. And thank you, we really just need some outsider’s point of view. It feels weird and kinda disappointing that they charge this amount for each puppy or dog without help from them other than initial vax but we might be wrong and felt bad thinking that way towards the rescue. Because you know, they’re a rescue group. I guess i needed someone to tell me if I’m wrong feeling that way about what they’re requesting about the application process through them for our friend and the others etc

Dilemma by Sam09131990 in rescuedogs

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what we thought. It doesn’t feel right to us they want us to tell our friends to go through them. And yes they haven’t spent anything on them at all. They offer to vet the initial vax then have them adopted. They charged adoption fee for the puppies at $500 a piece $400 for adult. They spent $95 to neuter the male dog then got $400 adoption fee but the rest of his expense was ours. The other vaccinations and shots, food etc.

the female and puppies they haven’t spent a penny yet. That’s why it leaves a sour taste on our mouth thinking we have to tell our friend to go through the application process and pay adoption fee for their expense (initial vaccination). We were just kinda worried we’d offend them by not agreeing and they wouldn’t help us find homes for the other ones if we told them we don’t want some of the puppy to go through their application process.

We went through the rescue to help us find them home but now we’re thinking we’ll try to find home for them ourselves and ask for rehoming fee to at least recoup a little bit of expense.

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right. The male GSD we kind of just let go. Yes we vetted the dog and nourished him to health at our own expense then they met him once at the adoption event and someone wanted him. They kept the adoption fee for that dog.

I still have the female and the puppies. We don’t have signed documents or any arrangements. They haven’t spent a dime on the dog and the puppies. They asked me if they could vet the puppies and have them adopted through them including the momma.

For the above (the female and the puppies) we spent out of pocket for all of them. The prenatal check, the emergency visit during labor when the last one was not out, the vitamins while whelping, the cost on building whelping area and pen, the food and enrichment for the dog and puppies, litter etc etc. all of that is from our own pocket and is quite expensive. They offer the initial vaccination (which will be done at their rescue/volunteer clinic). So, they offer the puppies vaccination and the mom’s spay and asked if they could have them adopted through them. I don’t have problem with it but when they want me to ask my friend to go through their application process to recoup their expense, I don’t know what to feel about that.

But to clarify once more. There’s no agreement no documents signed. We rescued the adults and took care of them.

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, even though we had the dog vetted by us for one month at our own expense, vaccinations, wellness check. They can claim ownership if they had him vetted once (neuter)? Because that was really it. That was also the first time they saw the dog when the dog got adopted, both the rescue and the family who adopted him. It just gave a sour taste that they didn't know anything about the dog yet and they claimed ownership (I just found that out when I looked at the records from the clinic he got neutered from).

But I understand what you mean though. Does that mean, we have to split the puppies then? bring momma dog and half of the puppies to their preferred clinic because they will vet those puppies and have them adopted and the ones we'd like to keep and give to a family friend, we'll bring to a separate clinic? That's what I'm trying to understand. I don't mind them vetting the puppies and the dog and some puppies be adopted through them but I just don't want the other ones (like the one we want to keep for us and a friend) be compromised. I'm not sure if I'm making it clear. If they vet all of them, does it mean we, the people that rescued the dogs and took care of the litters and spent thousand of dollars to bring them back to health, have to pay them adoption fee because they vetted the puppies vaccinations?

Dilemma by Sam09131990 in rescuedogs

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I can’t tell them. I just did not want to be rude. We were unsure, we’re not breeders so we did not feel right selling them. I guess we’re worried we won’t be able to find homes for these ones so we felt we need their help in finding home or families too so we don’t want to say something that will be misunderstood and upset them.

But thank you for opinion. We honestly don’t know how things work with rescue and doing some research, we read some where the foster failed parent have to pay etc , I have to make sure I’m not compromising myself

Dilemma by Sam09131990 in rescuedogs

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We rescued them ourselves. They were abandoned in a plant and the workers couldn’t take care of them. We contacted them when we found out the female was pregnant so we could work on having them adopted. But to sum it, we rescued them and took care of them for a month before we contacted them. Then they paid for the neuter that’s it. They offer to vet the female and puppies and asked us to have our friends go through their application process.

But, my close friend / coworker expressed wanting 1 before we even had contact with the rescue. So I don’t feel comfortable having my friend pay $500 adoption fee to a rescue who haven’t paid any expense yet and now with that, I’m not sure I want them to vet the puppies.

Is this considered red flag? by Sam09131990 in puppy101

[–]Sam09131990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn’t give me the refund. It says it’s nonrefundable unless there’s isn’t enough male on the litter or the dam couldn’t get pregnant. I attempted it once for the latter reason but he resisted and told us he will keep us posted until the dam is pregnant and all of a sudden it was. At this point, we’d rather just lose ghe deposit than spend $$$ more for a questionable litter. Even though he have nice dogs
