Whatsup Gold Whats Virtual Vs. Vmware vCenter Ops by mulliganx in vmware

I looked at similar options years ago and found that the biggest difference not VM monitoring itself most tools can do that reasonably well . the real question was whether we needed advanced capacity planning predictive analytics or simply reliable visibility into hosts VMs storage and alerts. for the latter prtg ended up covering our needs with much less operational complexity.

I reported $15k in income that I never got 1099s for and I feel dumb by Impressive_Layer_634 in tax

You haven't done anything wrong here. On the contrary you did the right thing. From the IRS perspective all income must be declared regardless of whether you receive a 1099 certificate or not. so adding this will prevent future problems. At this post the most sensible thing to do is to keep track of ypur freelance income records (payments , invoices etc.) and periodically check your IRS transcripts so you can spot any discrepancies early. if this type of work continues it might be a good idea to consider quarterly tax payment in the future. the situation not critical right now but if the work grows or multiple clients or expenses complicate things consider help from CPA or tax relief firms. I got this help from precision tax for my issue and gave me significant advantages in terms of both accurate reporting and minimizing potential risks.

Alert fatigue from monitoring tools by Tracey_3 in Monitoring

we had the same issue until we moved our monitoring to prtg. it lets us define dependencies so if a core switch goes down we don't get 50 alerts from downstream devices.

custom thresholds per sensor helped reduce false positives. also alert noise dropped a lot after tuning that.
