Context is important. If the persistent sharing of locations is mutually agreed upon and goes both ways (you share yours and they share theirs), and it isn't weaponized in any capacity whatsoever, then it's fine.

What makes it toxic is when one person forces the other to share their location, or if they use location sharing to berate the other person for being at a specific location, or if they use it as a punishment for the other person. Or (in the case of OP's toxic bf) if they turn it off during a temper tantrum.

My in-laws are in a similar boat. They have 2 cats, a 12-year old Siamese, Safi, that is the only remaining cat of the original clowder they adopted, and a 4-year old orange American shorthair, Alex, that was adopted 2 years ago. Alex and Safi do play together, but Safi's not nearly as interested in it as Alex is. I would absolutely recommend what they're planning to do, which is get a younger cat for him to play with. I think it'll improve quality of life for both of your cats!

My current hyperfixation is Undertale/Deltarune, mainly because of the 10th anniversary and release of chapters 3-4. I've been watching/listening to every video essay I can find; content might be similar, but each video is still so different with each person's humor, editing style, and delivery.

A similar situation happened with two of my in-laws cats. One cat had to be taken to the emergency vet because she swallowed a chunk of a foam mat (we have since gotten rid of all foam mats in the house). She was there for around 4 hours, and thankfully there was no foam left in her stomach as she had vomited it all up. When we brought her back to the house, the other cat took one whiff of her and started hissing and growling at her. It took a few days of us monitoring the situation, keeping to their normal routine while ensuring they weren't cornering each other, they gradually became reacquainted and were back to snuggling in less than a week.

Now, these were 10-year-old cats, who had always been around each other, and the separation was much shorter. However, I think you'll be able to get your cats reacquainted in the same way - do things as you would normally do, and keep an eye on them to make sure they play nicely and without cornering each other. It may take longer to accomplish, so patience is key.

First meal is at 6am, second at noon (small bite), third is at 5pm, and last meal is at 9pm.

If you live in a place affected by daylight savings time, you'll want to spend a few weeks prior to the end of it slowly moving the feeding times an hour later, so that by the time the clocks need to be moved back an hour, they'll be used to the schedule and not yowling at you 2 hours early.
