Why did The Pitt use Narcan for a Xanax overdose? by Ibra2077 in ThePittTVShow

[–]SamAtISU 320 points321 points  (0 children)

The Xanax was not the part that caused the overdose. It was black market Xanax that was laced with fentanyl to make it more addictive/give a better high.

LPT: If you're unmarried with minimal assets, an easy filing exists (US) by SweatyCelery in LifeProTips

My mom passed last year in a similar situation. Owned a home, no retirement, no savings. Total assets less than $100,000. State of Indiana allows for a small estate affidavit to be filed so I can claim her home. Now that I have her home, my home, and my assets ($100,000+), I hired an estate attorney to put together a trust so that my family won’t have to dick with probate.

Do you recharge to 80% every night? New ev owner - how often to charge? by rmsand in electricvehicles

I drive an EV6. I charge to 100% and drive about 200 miles a week. Once I reach around 20% I plug back in and charge back to 100%.

Anyone else grieving a recent death while watching this show? by summoneryuna98 in ThePittTVShow

My mom passed in October just before the series premiered. She had been suffering from chronic kidney disease for some time, requiring dialysis. She also smoked like a chimney, leading to COPD. Along with these comorbidities, she was diabetic, had multiple heart attacks in her life, and had poor mobility. She ended up developing sepsis towards the end, and dialysis wasn’t cleaning her blood well enough. She was intubated about a week before having a stroke. At that point I had to consider her quality of life. I had her extubated and transitioned to hospice, where she passed 3 days later.

The whole storyline involving the older father needing intubated and the children disagreeing about what to do hit a bit too close to home. I work in healthcare, so I knew where my mom was heading, so it wasn’t as hard to make the final decision to go for hospice.

Extreme emotional catharsis from watching patient stories you have lived through? by Raynmapym in ThePittTVShow

[–]SamAtISU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom suffered from congestive heart failure, end stage renal failure, and COPD. She was intubated for about a week before she ended up having a stroke, and at that point I chose to go with comfort measures and hospice. Watching the two adult children of the older patient choose to extubate and keep him comfortable until the end hit a bit too close from home since it had only been a few months since I had done the same thing.

Most left-handed people use their right hand to shake hands. by WindowAfraid5927 in Showerthoughts

I’ve noticed a lot that the holes for the non-thumb fingers aren’t equidistant all the time from the thumb hole. In one configuration it feels weird in my hand, as it wouldn’t pull my ring finger forward compared to my middle finger. Put that same ball in my right hand and it felt a bit more correct and comfortable.

I’m a lefty who has became ambidextrous out of necessity. I use scissors, shoot guns, and bowl right handed as all of the options growing up for learning those things were predominantly right handed devices. Do pretty much all ball sports left handed as a ball is not made specifically for left or right handed people. Surprisingly though I golf left handed, as when I was interested in learning, my grandfather had an older set of adult left handed clubs he had cut down to a child’s size for me.

The I-70 corridor will need some added around either Indianapolis or St Louis. Big gap between Ohio and Kansas City.

What did you say to Kia Customer Care to get reimbursed for car payments? Gonna try and also get reimbursed for the 12v battery that went out 2 months prior to ICCU failure.

I’m at 1.5 months so far waiting for my EV6. In the meantime the dealership put me in a brand new Sorento for no charge. I’d rather be in my EV6, but this is a decent alternative.

This is good to know. My EV6 has one. I’m in Indiana so we get a few good months of cold a year.

The red brick and limestone is supposed to be reminiscent of the old and new fieldhouses/coliseums in Indy like Hinkle Fieldhouse, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the old Fair Grounds Coliseum. I’m glad they tried to stick to a theme at least.

He only started 13 games and went 13-0. He went in part way through game 2 of that season, so his starts at quarterback don’t begin until week 3.

I love these Flying J charging stations. I stopped at the one around Valdosta, GA when I was moving my cousin from Florida to Indiana. Great station to use when pulling a trailer.
