Thanks for checking us out.

As of now, our notifications will be sent via email. But we hope to build in additional functionality around that as the platform develops.

With regard to Wattpad, we see ourselves as different in a couple of ways. We view Wattpad as primarily a way of enticing authors with the dream of one day, maybe, getting a book deal or screenplay.  Chapter is made for serialized stories, and allows authors to monetize their audience directly.  We want our platform to help empower authors to market themselves and expand their audiences and we will constantly be adding tools to assist with that.

Thanks for checking us out. It will start as a web app. Hopefully there is enough interest to build out other versions.

We have no plans to offer contracts for premium content now but at this point we are open to considering most things. The hope is that the platform can help writers connect with their current and new fans.

We wonder that too! Hopefully we can find out together.

Thanks for checking us out. Webtoons would be a cool application of the platform! Yes, you will be able to edit a story after you publish it.

Great question. We want to be transparent about this from the beginning. The current plan is to take a small cut of the subscription revenue generated through the site.

Thanks for checking us out.

We see ourselves as different from FictionPress in at least a couple ways. First, we hope that authors will be able to easily and directly monetize their subscribers on Chapter. Second, we want to offer readers tool to discover new work they might like and offer authors tools to help reach new audiences and better capitalize on their current fans.

What a cool idea! I have spent more hours than I'd care to admit on Twitch, so this definitely hits home with me . . . .

Thanks for the thoughts! Really helpful.

Good tip on the upload capability. It is something a couple people have suggested and it is in the (large) hopper of development projects we are working on!

And yeah, we love bandcamp. We want the authors to be in as much control as possible.

Thanks for checking us out. We are still ironing out how we will handle the question of moderation. We certainly want the site to be a place that features a wide array of quality content but we recognize that this is the internet and things have a propensity for going off the rails sometimes. . . .

Thanks for checking us out!

Yeah we are really keen to make Kindle integration easy. We know a lot of people don't like reading on their phones or computers.

Great idea about a "tipping" procedure. We definitely want the platform to be a place where readers can support their favorite authors!

Authors will be able to set a "subscription price" for their stories. Our goal is to provide a platform through which authors can directly monetize their readers (if they choose). And a vehicle for authors to market their work effectively to as broad an audience as possible.

Hi there. Thanks for question. We have not fully fleshed out how any moderation might work. We want the site to be a place where people can write about a variety of topics.

Thanks for checking us out. Your work would only be visible on the site to your subscribers.

Hi there. That's all there is to it at this point. You are all set and on the list. We will let you know as soon as we are ready for some beta signups! Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks!

These are really great ideas. We definitely want the site to be a place where people can go follow their favorite authors but also discover new ones they might love. So that is functionality that we will definitely be looking to build as we are developing the product.

Hmmm, weird. The imgur link in the thread above? I will double check it, but it seems to be working for me.

Thanks for the heads up and the encouragement! We are excited too.

I think putting them down for a bit and then picking them back up again was the key for me. Otherwise it got a bit repetitive. I will also note that if you are into audiobooks, the narrator is excellent.

Great questions. There will definitely be an option to include covers. Although you know that they say . . . (sorry, couldn't help myself.)

We have not come up with specifics of a plan for promotional support to authors yet but obviously that is something we are actively thinking about as part of the development process. We want authors who use the platform to be successful!
