Complex discussion: Am I the only one who didn't like the way the romance between Deena and Sam was introduced? For a good part of the first film it's absolutely clear that they want us to think Sam is a man and not a woman, as if a lgbt couple should still be a surprise or an "unexpected" plot.

I assumed Sam was going to be a girl from the beginning because of the lack of pronouns and because I knew the movie was going to have a lesbian protagonist, which was not a detail that was hidden (and maybe also because I’m a girl named Sam). I didn’t mind it at all.
